Re: Top 10 MX5 models of all time (??)
It is based on an Americans view so how important is it really. Seriously, how can a car that is not even released make No. 2. This would appear to be an Infovertisment.
The same bloke also did Top 10 Best BMWs of All Time, Top 10 Best European Sports Cars of the ’80s, Top 10 Japanese Sports Cars of the ’90s, Top 10 Honda Civics of All Time sounds like a pattern...
The writer got his degree in 2003, a potential Top Gear presenter I don't think so. If you want a laugh read his Linkedin profile, full of self importance. I would be worried if he rated my MX5 the highest now I know something about the author.
Mike Schlee,
Road Test Editor - If it has wheels, Mike will drive it. Having written professionally for several years, he joins the AutoGuide team as the Road Test Editor. The only thing Mike likes better than pawing all over the latest and greatest automobiles is driving them; a lot – over long distances. Testing and evaluating cars is a tough gig, but someone’s got to do it.

No, I think he got the #1 version right, but then, I'm 100% biased.

Re: Top 10 MX5 models of all time (??)
It seems to be largely based on what the writer thinks was the coolest looking MX5. I remember when the NC was first released one of the main car magazines did a compaison at Wakefiled between the NC and SE and if my memory serves me correctly the NC lapped around 1 second quicker then the SE with the same driver.
Did they not get the Clubman is the USA?

The best MX5 is the one with ceramic coated headers/turbo, Lokiel approved 17" wheels if it is a NA and built to all the suggestions from this forum and MT net.

Oh, so not an MX5 at all then.... a Franken-beast of assembled parts and modifications that essentially renders what the factory delivered as being excess metal and dead weight... yeah, that model is awesome!
G
MX5 91 NA6 LE completely stock and loving it!

Problem is it could never be built, imagine trying to get the whole of this forum to agree on something

Similar to getting laws passed through...
BTW everyone should have a racing suit that matches the colour of their car ;)
Magpie, you're already ahead

NA6 turbo - 140kw atw - not the most powerful but so much fun
