Seems a lot of replies haven't done it....so can't have a result of Happy or not
However they choose to offer a opinion that has no basis on personal experience

I'm Happy to wade through the bullsh*t for the odd essence of fact

It's a bit of a 'why the f*&k not' mod, like you said if it makes you happy then great

As much as I joke about the lack of proof about the performance gains I do think the coating did slightly reduce the under bonnet temperatures in my Evo.

Picked up a second hand pair of Hurricane headers for $200
Dropped them off yesterday to have them ceramic coated....another $200
$200 cheaper than budget...already winning ;)
Will post photos when I pick them up in a weeks time

I am sorry I didn't see this thread earlier, but luckily it all worked out OK.

If you are going to use ceramic coating on the headers, it is important to coat the INSIDE of the headers (as was done, above).

As mentioned by the knowledgeable individual, using the insulation (coating) only on the outside allows the heat to build up in the steel of the pipes themselves, increasing their running temperature, and most likely shortening their working life. But with the inside of the pipes coated, the temperature of the steel itself is lower, thus alleviating the issue, AND, providing an extra amount of insulation to keep your under bonnet temperatures EVEN LOWER! How cool is that (pun intended)?!

So, remember, INSIDE and OUTSIDE.

Just some information as to my thought process to arrive at Ceramic coated Hurricane headers

Wanted a little more power>looked at getting headers>liked stainless steel but heard that they were more likely to crack>
looked at mild steel and saw that Hurricane(Australian made)were slightly more expensive than alternatives but seemed to have Good reviews>realised that the heat shield would be removed....looked at wrapping headers but research indicated this reduced the life of the steel>saw an alternative was ceramic coating>found local applicator>looked at buying new headers>then just as I was about to buy them a second hand set came up for sale here....bought them and have had them coated....yet to fit them

The ceramic coating decision was initially about replacement of the heat shield,
1. however they are as pretty as stainless steel
2. CC increases the longevity of the steel they cover(reduces rust and heat cycling of steel)
3. CC reduces engine bay temps due to reduced radiant heat from headers
4. CC increases temp of exhaust gases....allowing them to exhaust quicker
5. there is supposed to be a modest increase in HP???(much debated...but seems logical if 3/4 are true)

Seems that some assume that because there maybe??? some small power advantage to CC headers
then that has been the prime motivation to do so .

I agree that a decision to CC headers to gain power isn't cost effective....for street use

However...my decision to Ceramic Coat the headers was about (3) closely followed by (1)&(2)
for me....it was never about, or being dríven by (5)....the extractors were for that...and even then I'm not expecting big gains

Now installed.....
Found a number of fixings that needed more than gentle persuasion to release their 20year grip

Only one quick trip around the block....seems to be revving more freely

Very Happy with result...

Recycled some Extractors that were Australian designed and Australian made from Australian steel
Then had them ceramic coated by an Australian business....fitted them myself
and feel I have a "seat of the pants" improvement?!?!

Perhaps I should of just sanded them back and painted them with "brasso"
but that's so "old school"

Overall investment.....$420+2hrs removal & fitting+4 hours swearing at nuts that wouldn't budge
