Plugs are so cheap i dont know why you would use second hand ones.

How have you gotten this far and it still needs a tune?

No-one local has any correct temp plugs with removable top nuts to fit the COP boots, so used an old set of IK24s and ordered an new set of IK22s.

Yup, put off the tune pending maybe putting a proper turbo on it. Might not be doing that for a while though. Also don't trust the original tuner and haven't yet heard enough or consistent enough recommendations for the right tuner locally.

Nick Thursday, Trent shortly thereafter. Hopefully these'll be two more to put on the list of people who've done great work on my car.

Nick can sort pretty much any issue. He can do everything from bog less body work, to engine rebuilds.

GOOD news:

Sooo, firstly I've hopefully found the right guy to sort the mechanicals, and the right tuner. Then I discover that although they're a bit of a drive from home, they're right next to each other and work with each other all the time. That's pretty handy.

Then I buy some parts which the seller agrees to deliver to me. Then discover he's in the same suburb as the tuner and mechanic and he'll pick me up from there when I drop the car off and drive me home.

Don't you just love it when a plan comes together?

Found the coolant leak today. Water inlet pipe to turbo. Sorted.

Couple of weeks ago discovered bad oil leak (again) from the dreadfully badly designed turbo oil return pipe. Replaced with high temp flexy pipe. Sorted.

Hopefully we'll no longer have puddles, or steam, or smoke, or smoke screens.

If only!
A further disastrous (potentially engine destroying) issue was discovered today.
Will update when sorted.
This car is now officially making me ill.

But yes. I'm finally considering giving up. There's only so much of this you can take.
