Tyre Selection for 2008 NC

Hello,
I am looking for some advice/guidance on tyres. Currently considering KUMHO KU39 or Continental Conticontactsport - appreciate any feedback.

They'd be fine for general use. Do you plan to use the car in club track days or other motorsport?

Bridgestone re003. They are cheap and sensational
MY07 NC, Mazdaspeed Body, Ohlins, Full GWR Exhaust, 17x9 RPF1's, 4.1FGR and lots lots more

Michelin PS3 in 215/45/17.
I really like them and mine have also done a couple of track days.
Should be able to pick them up around $159.00ea

Another vote for Michelin PS3 in 215/45R17. They have excellent grip wet & dry AND long lasting. I've got over 45,000km out of my current set and the car gets dríven hard. Cheap too.

RE003 is rated above the Michelin PS3's, which aren't bad either.

Another vote for the Michelin PS3, quieter than the other performance tyres and a lot easier to live with day to day. Wet weather performance is second to none.

Get the 215x45x17 size as it is a lot cheaper than the standard 205x45x17. Cost around $150 - 160 each depending on where you buy them.

Another plus is that they lasts and lasts. Mine currently have 40,000 kilometres on them with a Natmeet trackday. I have a lot of negative camber on the car and they still aren’t down to the wear indicators.

Really just looking for good touring tyres - no track work, just plenty of country roads.

I'd go for the Michelin PS3 in 215x45x17". If you can get them for around $160 each, then that's a great deal.

Sorry to jump in, but I'm also after new tyres for a 2008 NC as it currently has the originals on it still, they have only done 30K so are not worn out but they are "aged" out.

I'm liking the sound of the Michelin PS3 in 215x45x17 but would like to understand the impact of going from the 205 to 215.
Whilst I know that this means that the 215 is a wider tyre, what is the effect of this?

+1 for the PS3 though I'm hearing good stuff about the Bridgestone.
The PS3 is a very quiet running tyre which is perfect for cruising.
Be aware that the extremely long life of the tyre is a bit of a furphy, yes the tread lasts a long time
however my experience is that the grip is seriously compromised at about 3/4 of the tread.
Having said that, that point will be further down the track than most others.

Oh and if you're in Sydney, get a price from Spinning Wheel tyres and get a wheel alignment at the same time
Consider a nitrogen fill..
Be sure to mention that you're an MX5 club member

The bigger rolling circumference actually makes the speedo more accurate, other than that you won't notice anything
