I just think why haven't I always had a turbo MX5. And people that have man sized turbo MX5's, man, they must be insane to drive.

Yep.

I have repurposed the damaged spare bonnet. I figured the radiator will need all the help it can get. Marked some lines, made some cuts with the grinder, then bent up some alloy sides and riveted them in. And patched the hole from the naca duct.

Given you have pretty decent sized holes in the bonnet, I always wondered if there was much merit in trying to create a duct in the tiny space between the radiator and the engine (without v mounting) to push most of the air up through the vent. Like the WRC cars.

Someone with your skills could make a sexy carbon fibre option.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Will never work on this car. The radiator is pushed back 75mm. The radiator hose and bov and bits are all in the way. Would be nice. The c.f car will have something like that. Radiator will be in the boot space in that car for better ducting,

Bit of black paint to finish it off.

I hear the car is making an impressive 124.9kw and heaps of torque on the Dyno today.

124.9 keeps me in restricted open. It could however be making more depending on dyno.

Will see if I can come up with some video. There was a number of 181 on the screen at one stage. But we didn't do a power rn at the end, and didn't get a dyno sheet.

The car performed well today at Broadford, nothing broke.

I could not fix the oversteer problem. Needs a wing maybe. The brakes overheated, but In the following sessions I braked a bit earlier and they stayed consistently average for the day.
Needs a catch can, as the oil stays in the head a bit too long from G forces. All things I knew would happen. Except the oversteer, thought that wouldn't be as bad.
Ended up with fastest time outright on the day, and broke the club record by about 2 seconds. But sadly I won't get the record because I didn't hand in my Motorsport application to the MX5 club.
It doesn't feel as fast on the track. Could be the rich mixtures it has now after fitting a new fuel filter. The one that was on the car when dynoed was probably the original that has done 211,000km's.
Over 2.0 class results.
