Plug gap advice please
What gap is recommended on NGK plugs equivalent to Denso IK 16s in an SE with ID1000 injectors, Haltech, Fab9 COPS, E85 and 11psi?

Re: Plug gap advice please
Please ignore this. Apparently they're not really designed to be adjusted.

Re: Plug gap advice please
Yeah, they're set from the box...
Edit: Actually, with your (or any such) upgrades, is it possible that a spark gap could be different?

Re: Plug gap advice please
Maybe, except the biggest issue seems to be the tops of the plugs can't be removed from the NGKs, unlike the Densos, so the COPs won't fit properly on the NGKs. MAJOR misfires under load presently.

You need a dyno to be sure.. But I tell ya what, if you brought it to me id fit BKR7E's, gapped to 0.6mm and I reckon that it would be perfect first go.

Re: Plug gap advice please
For reference, pretty much all plugs are able to be gapped, it's just a matter of lightly tapping the end on the workbench until it's where you need it according to the feeler gauge.
The only real difference is those weird ones with the 4 electrode points.

Do the tops screw off to properly engage the COPs?

The 7 in the BKR7E means heat range 7? I was told to make sure I have 7 heat range. Went to autobahn. They have 3.....

I use BKR6E in both cars, standard gap and no problems at all, ever, and Repco and Autobahn have heaps of them.
Dave the end doesn't screw of them though.

Don't forget Bosch and ngk number their heat ranges backwards to each other so best check your getting the right heat range if you swap brands.

x2. Basic plugs are cheap and work best. I also check the plugs from time to time. Each modded engine is a bit diffeent so you don't know if the heat is right until you've tried them. If they show up as too hot or too cold then I just buy another set with the right range. Much more reliable than searching for answers to this on a forum.

Anyone able to tell me an NGK BKR7E equivalent which has the top electrode screw off (apparently as motorcycle plugs) so they'll be a better fit under my COPs?

Re: Plug gap advice please
Interesting timing, I looked on the NGK website last night and for the SE they recommended IFR5T-8N
That's an expensive plug and a 0.8 gap.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Would that be the right heat range and gap NitroDann, and Okibi, can you confirm the top electrode will screw off so the plug will connect correctly with my motorcycle COPs?
Is there an alternative that's normal priced?

Re: Plug gap advice please
Looks as if NGK BCPR7ES may be the go to fit the COPS with the top terminal nuts removed from the plugs. Will confirm after test fitting.
