High Speed Whistle noise

Postby Geordie » Sat Jun 06, 2015 5:53 pm

I have an NB SP and at speeds over 110kmh I get a high pitched whistle noise which changes with wind shear i.e. it is not constant. It sounds like something vibrating at high speed like a gum leaf whistle (if you remembers those) I have tried to locate it but really haven't clue as nothing seems to be loose. Any suggestions?

My car used to do this and I traced it down to the rubber windscreen surround. To test put some tape around the windscreen to seal the rubber to the body. Mine was coming from the passenger side.

I got the windscreen replaced under warranty and it didn't do it after that.

Thanks Gary I will give it a try, I know Gerard had this windscreen replaced but not sure how many years ago so warranty may be a challenge. Regards

Check the rubber seals around the side windows, mine was doing that after I changed my roof to mohair- New seals on the side fixed it.

Thanks I narrowed it down to the centre of the windscreen and a tiny bit of silicon stopped it.
