Give credit here for great work done on your car
.
Please only give credit to people who've done great work that has stayed great over time. Please don't discredit anyone whose work turned out less than great.
Who, where, what and contact details would help other forumites benefit from your good fortune in finding trustworthy people.
Probably not right to mention your own place of work, even if you work on MX5s. No doubt you'll get referrals here from others if appropriate.
Of course the usual disclaimers apply including for me - no guarantees; your experience may differ etc etc.

A couple of starters:
Dave @ DDM Auto Electrical in Seaford Vic 9786 9252.
Diagnosed and sorted a whole bunch of electrical faults, some just to do with the car being 11 years old, some to do with the modifications, and many of which I'd have previously thought were pretty MX5 specific, including installing a set of COPS which others hadn't been able to get to work at all.
Craig @ Head Shed in Mornington Vic 5973 5566.
Machining work to repair stripped seatbelt tower bolts/threads ruined by work previously done by A.N.Other. Also TIG welding done on an intake elbow. Thankfully I've not needed them to do any actual cylinder head work, yet (touch wood).
Several forumites have been a great help too, but I've not mentioned them here as they don't do it to earn a living. Thanks anyway guys.
Also several other businesses have done some decent work on the car but included some bad mistakes, some of which were disastrous or even potentially terminal either for me or the car. In most cases they've put matters right. Maybe I'm a difficult customer, but they don't get to be included here.

I've always had great service from MX5 Mania.
David and Ajay are always very generous with their time.
On several occasions they've gone out of their way to help me at short notice.

Is this a near-silence that speaks volumes?

Automotive Plus have done excellent work on the MX-5 and our BJ2 Astina (now in my daughter's hands) on the occasions it was required. I manage to do all the routine servicing on our cars which, in turn, seem to be exceptionally reliable and don't break very much anyway.

Another vote for Automotive Plus.
Not only are they the only crew I'd trust either of my MX-5s with, but their customer service is second to none. Communication is key when having work done on your car, and these guys always call when the work is done, or if there's going to be something out of the ordinary required with a price.

I've done all the work on my car, and always found the service good, price really reasonable. Sometimes it does take a while for the work to be done, but I think that's because it takes time to do quality work. Anyway, totally recommended and will be going back.
MX5 91 NA6 LE completely stock and loving it!

Ross Lyons Motors in Drouin or Warragul, I can't quite remember which suburb.. (they're next to each other).
He did my cams through wade cams, diagnosed a rattle in the engine (turned out to be the shims getting nearly flipped off the buckets) and had shim-under-bucket lifters machined for me, to solve the problem. Also did a shmick job on a full engine rebuild, and an awesome tire alignment.
Also unique exhausts in Bayswater- Victoria, did a great job on my exhaust. I got an SE (or SP?) Mazdaspeed exhaust (slightly larger diameter to the stock NB8A exhaust) and had him cut it and weld a flange on so that it would line up perfectly with the stock header/extractor configuration. Did it for a real steal, and it looked beautifully clean and well presented. He also did it in a timely fashion.

Steve's Body Shop - Cottage Lane, Hackham SA ... When I was fitting new seats to my NA, one of the captive nuts broke away due to the floor around it rusted. Took it down to these guys and they took the car in straight away for me. They found out the whole floor on both sides and most of the seat nuts were rusty. They repaired all the mounts plus removed all the rust and re-sprayed the floor and had the car back to me next day, all done with photo's to show the work done and at a great price!!

MX5 Factory in Ringwood did a great job on my exhaust install. I went in two times, first was for the gwr super-q muffler and then for the gwr mid-pipe and max power headers. Adrian is the mech there who did my install and he was very thorough to check leaks and ensure the setup was just right. When I did the header install, also got a servicing done and again it was done well.
Also Dick who owns the place runs it really well and is a nice person to talk to about mx5s!

+1 for MX-5 Mania. I take my car there once a year for a tune up and they always sort everything out. Car always runs heaps better after leaving that place.

AllMaz in Clayton, Melbourne are awesome. They know the cars in side out and back to front, they pay exceptional attention to their work, and they treat their customers with respect.

Option One at Hamlton in Brisvegas.
Paul does good prices on tyres and being an old school rally guy knows how to set up a car as well.
He also does good package deals to supply, install and set up coilovers.

Re: Give credit here for great work done on your car
I'd recommend Deckspeed in Padstow near Sydney.
Daniel has done a great job working on my car, doing everything from supplying and fitting parts, servicing the car, tuning it and doing the wheel alignments. Often going above and beyond to fit me in when I need something done urgently.
All those things could probably be done by others but the most valuable thing to me has been his experience setting up and driving NC's. He recommended all of the parts as well as set the alignment, coilover and sway bar settings to what they should be to go fast (I haven't touched them) and then helped me by giving a ton of advice based on experience about how to drive the car with the way it's setup.
