Haha I just put them on temporarily for the purpose of photo. Ive also gave up on brushed steel metal. Its easier to get the DIY plate from Jass and justr drill the pilot light holes. Until then, I had some 3M vinyl brushed steel wrap at home from another project so I used that to cover the background and excess clear plastic behind pilot lights. Came out ok even though Jass plate will go over it.

Will post more photos with lights on later.

Are those rings there the RS Refine ones or are you still awaiting those?

These are I.L.Motorsport brushed aluminium ones. The RS Refine is on its way from US. I will throw a party once they arrive haha. Next mission is to source Body Shop Hayashi headlights from Japan. (I wish)

When they were made black anodizing was an option. There are probably only 2 or 3 black sets.

Had some time today to work on the cluster. Jass Performance brushed stainless steel plate was put in today. I also removed the white paint on the needles and just kept the tip white (like in SLKs). Also installed reg LEDs for main cluster back light, it illuminates the needle with no paint which is nice. I will be soldering the LED pilot lights next weekend. Tried to source small font vinyl stickers for pilot lights but no one would cut them that small.

Let me know what you think.

Looks great!! Vinyl is super tricky to cut when things get small. Had trouble myself getting someone to cut (semi-intricate) stickers at a 10 cm diameter.

Have you thought about getting some letraset and going DIY directly onto the surface?

Cheers, yes I called a few printers but they said smallest they can go is 5cm length by 1cm height which is too big for the cluster.

As a kid, Ive always labelled my books with letraset but it used to come off easily. I assume they have now improved? Would they have a durable product that could go on steel sheet?

Letraset was never meant as a durable product. More as a graphics product to produce art for negatives and print plates. The reason it was generally used in larger font sizing was that it would be set, then reduced photographically to the required size, producing a high quality text.

Computer fonts superceded Letraset.

A mask for spraying the text on to the panel could be produced using Letraset that would give an OEM finish.

I'm surprised the printer's haven't suggested any of this to help you out. We did this sort of thing in our graphics shop all the time.
