SLOW WINDOWS - I know what to buy, I just can't buy it!

OK so I've read plenty of discussion here and elsewhere about the NA's famously slow windows. All roads for a repair seem to lead to this article:

Fine, so I'll get some Honda SHIN-ETSU grease. Unfortunately Amazon plus about 5 other sites I have found it on will NOT ship it to our dark and distant planet downunder. Anyone had any luck buying it?

I just cleaned mine out and sprayed with liberally with teflon spray. Works fine now.

I managed to source a tube off eBay or amayama. Something like that.
Any grease should work fine, just get the door cards off and smother all the linkages and sliders.
Try not to pick something that is especially attractive to dirt and dust

I bet apu is right you will be able to use alternative products. The grease is probably merely a product that will not attack nor create a mess. Essentially it's going to be a clean lube that will not contaminate.

Yeah I sprayed the rollers as the article linked above suggested, but I'm in the group that experienced 'little or no effect'.
Might have to get the door cards off.

Still I would like to find that Shin-Etsu grease too to clean out rubber channels. The more I search, the more I read good things about it!

it's a silicone based grease.

You should be able to find an equivalent at Bursons etc.

Alternatively i'd just use lithium grease, it's easily available.

What a coincidence madkeen , I looked at that article earlier today too. My windows are slow and gammy, the motors strain and that causes the headlights to dim each time the windows are played with.

I'm going to try WD-40 White Lithium grease spray.

Also, Bunnings is cheaper by ~40c give or take than SCA (don't buy from Supercheap Auto with their Club member 25% off grease sale this weekend)

Taking the window switch apart and cleaning the contacts had the biggest improvement when I fixed my old NA's windows. Cleaning & greasing the runners etc made little difference.

Was going to suggest this but key beat me to it

I was lucky that a good clean out and silicon spray did the trick for me.

I do have a set of nb regulators just in case though.

lol was trying to find some today, called a honda dealership they said they were discontinued. Heaps available on eBay though with international shipping.

Madkeen I will be swapping my electric windows out soon. The passengers one is normal speed but the drivers is a bit slow. Last time I pulled the switch apart and cleaned off all the soot and it worked like a treat. Just be careful pulling the switch apart as there are small pieces that are easy to loose.

You could try Automotive Plus they do sell reconditioned motors etc.

I had a similar issue and used graphite powder from Bunnings, worked a treat for about $6.00!
