Greetings humans!
I've spent today chopping out the wires for the alarm the used to be in Lil red.
I've found a use for all but two, and they get spliced into into the wires at (pic related)
The multimeter tells me they're all ground-ish connections, but the white one was fused. The green one does ... A mystery.
So, on an na6 what do the factory wires do just inside the kick panel at the driver's feet? These wires all go in there, somewhere, and that plug looks far more OEM than the rest of the crap I've cut out, so I'm assuming it's meant to be there
What are these wires

Re: What are these wires
Did the indicators flash when the alarm went off?
From memory those wires could be tapping into the flasher circuit.
If you're just removing it all, trace them back to the oem source and cut/shield.

Re: What are these wires
The brain of the alarm was long-gone when I got the car, there are just random bits of "handi-work" scattered around that I was cleaning up, so far I've got a surplus momentary push-button, a red LED, two relays, a microwave sensor, a knock/shock sensor, two central-locking actuators, and two inline fuse holders, one was on a Ground wire...
The initial idea was the get the central locking actuators going so both doors locked/unlocked at once, but putting the multimeter on the wires indicated they were a dead short, so it became a clean-out instead of a patch-up.
The actuators individually work, but whoever made the car work without the alarm brain wired them into a dead short and removed the fuse that did power them (probably because it kept blowing for some 'unknown' reason)
The two unknown "Maybe Earth" wires have been labelled as such, taped up and tucked away under the kick panel for Future Cus to deal with, it's so cold there's dew forming on everything... That means it's "Inside for Milo" time!
