Once I tried to order roof cables and they told me I'd have to buy an entire new roof.
My response was '...errrrrr.'

We're just used to all the great mx5 specific stores, mazda's parts dept. spends all day dealing with mazda 3's from 2013, not 25 year old mx5's.

Even supplying the VIN number doesn't help. After supplying the VIN number for my car I was told it didn't have a turbo. I said it has, do you want to see it. He said it must be aftermarket. I said no and then explained about the SP. He'd never heard of such a thing. Luckily they called up the dealer spares "expert" and he'd heard of an SP but then spent forever tracking down a part number, then of course it was a discontinued part.

Caliper rebuild kits are available from Mazda Japan. I got mine rebuilt in February.

I'm surprised they are selling Japanese brake pads. When I enquired a few years ago they were only selling "Mazda approved" reboxed Bendix pads without the clips or shims.

Garry

Would you happen to have the part number for the calliper rebuild kit.

From looking at the US sites, it should contain 2xPiston Seals, 2xPiston Dust Boots, 4xSlide Pin Dust Boots and 2xBleed Valve Covers. Is that what you got?
