Finished putting rwd conversion bits on. Na8 Intake manifold and throttle body installed. Injectors and 949racing rail installed.

COP plate for cover is being made currently in carbon

Awaiting stuff from the USA still.

Purchased a velo podium seat preloved.

Ordered a works bell quick release.

Picked up a Nardi "Gara 3" 350mm padded wheel also.

Cleaned up the 6 speed box and picking up a tallboy rollbar from auto+ tomorrow!

Slowly slowly.

I can now get the tallboy powder coated! My package finally arrived from America (4 days shipping took 6 months to get organised...) so now have a nice shiny set of advanti s1, new radiator and new IL mounts! Slowly slowly! Also picked up a set of frog arms tonight to add to the pile. Just have to sort out what's happening in with turbo stuff and hope to get it together in a few weeks!

Forgot the wheels! Have 2 full sets of rs3 in 225/45/15 to use.

Rear. This may answer your questions about why the bar is a random colour. It was the closest match to these wheels.

Cleaned up the 6 speed and 3.65 t2 diff. No pics though. Rough mid way point of the cop bracket.

Using a 1.6 for hole sizing and mounting hardware.

Thanks!

Good to see it is progressing along.
The shell is in beautiful condition, keen to see pics of the rims contrasting against the paintwork.

They'll hopefully look as good as I imagine. Currently no suspension or driveline in but when I get time I'll drop the motor and box in and bolt up the new diff. Once I've got coilover sorted I'll get the tyres mated to the rims.. for now it's another thing for me to destroy.

Picked up 1 of 3 new seals gearbox seals from A+ today as well as an na8 dipstick to suit the oil pan. Slowly slowly. While I wait for the other seals I've started on the next pointless (but cheap) project.

I suspect 35-50 hours will be required to get it shiny based off the first hour spent on it...

Firstly hit the raised lettering with the grinder.

Here's where I gave up for today

Bit of an update.

Replaced birth input and output seals in the box. It was filthy.
Yet to find a solution for an accurate speedo

Image

Notice location of turbo oil drain in pan.
Image

Now look what I've done...

Image

So I took it to A+ and said fix it please! So they did today :)

Image

End result: spent more money on new gasket rtv and half moon seals than the welding!

Put it all back together tonight.

Image

All clean and ready to drop in tomorrow.. finally!

Got my package from garagestar courtesy of Pham. Diff bushes, rack spacers and door hinge things. a few jobs for tomorrow. What fun!

Until next time...

Last night we found more fwd brackets and differences but now I'm so stoked that we got the motor in. Lots of work to do the fuel system and obviously the turbo etc. Hopefully my coilovers arrive soon and I can put it on the ground again for a bit.

Also did the diff bushes and rack spacers.

It was a mission with the reroute and cas to get in compared to the 1.8 for some reason but we got there.

YES

Awesome to see the progress from a few nights ago. It's going to be a pearler mate when you get it fired up.
