Did you end up working out what it is?
I've got the same issue, wet carpet in the centre section of the boot.

Mine is a soft top though, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if the rain Raul is rooted. The drains were full of a grade mulch.
I'm gonna silicon around the taillights, but the main boot seal, fuel cap etc looks fine.

Basically just interested to know how you got on.

When my car leaked there it was the rain rail.

Cheers. Guess I'll need to just take the plunge, get in there and tape it up with some insulation tape.

Snowmotion do you mean the rain rail inside bolted to the back edge of the parcel shelf with the softop?

Yes, my car leaked on the right side in front of the rear suspension and there is junction box in there and the horn started sounding so it gave me a clue.
Pulled the roof off and the rain rail was brittle and cracked.
Replaced it and all fixed even with all this rain.

I've had a similar problem. Passengers side only, it seems to be coming from between the two pieces of sheet metal. This is with a hardtop on so rain rail shouldn't be an issue o thought?

Also seems to be if the car is nose down.

My temp fit has been to park it in the garage and take the other car if raining.

This happened to me and it was my taillights. New gaskets are cheap.
Test the boot rubber by wiping it with talcum powder when dry. Any water leaking in will show.

I had the same issue.

My car has some aftermarket wing that attaches with 4 bolts through the boot lid.

It turned out to be the bit of seal foam between the spoiler and the boot had deteriorated, so water ran through the bolt holes.

I ran a bead of silicon around the bottom of the spoiler and stuck it back down, it seems to be fixed so far.
