So have you bugged Andy yet regarding the brake booster barb as a MAP source?

No, I'm still waiting to hear back from him for a fix to the throttle tip in stumble. I've been waiting for over a month, he must be a very busy man. I'll ask his thoughts on the pick up point of the map sensor when he gets back to me. I haven't chased him up yet because it wasn't mission critical. I've been getting other stuff sorted out first. The neutral switch was broken which was causing bad "idle droop" and stalling. I finally managed to replace the switch this week and the idle is very much improved on my test drive today. Next thing on the list is to get the starting sorted.

Yes, on the passenger side of the gearbox. It works with the clutch switch. It was stuck on so the ECU never knew when the car was idling.

Does it really only have that one way of knowing when to idle?

No, it learns the gears and/or knows when the car is stationary from the speed sensor but it still had trouble with idle droop. With the factory neutral and clutch switches the idle is much better. I guess that's why Mazda went to the trouble of installing them in the first place.

Other ecu's use rpm and rate of rpm change over time to determine when to go closed loop, and most obviously, the throttle position sensor.

No idea if Adaptronic does that too. I know SFA about it and don't really care to tell you the truth. I have no desire to be a tuner, I'm just trying to get my car to work how it's supposed to.

Im simply suggesting that it probably cound have been fixed quickly without the need for replacement hardware.

The easy fixes suggested to me didn't work. Replacing the faulty hardware did. But back to my original question ND. Where do other ECU's take the map sensor reading from on an NB8B?

Between the throttle body plate and the valves, preferably directly behind the throttle body or at the very rear of the inlet manifold plenum.

Either/or, but there are countless options available in OEM form.

Ahh my bad.
I just assumed you meant adding something.

Reading it again i see that you just one of the oem existing feeds!!

Face PALM!!

I was using a tee from the fuel pressure Regulator.
As i had read that it was a cleaner signal but when Mania tuned it they went back to the feed at the Throttle Body.
