Probably best to change this to a flexible/braided line since the hard line cracked? If that is possible.

There is no high pressure in that line. My first car had some dodgy soft rubber tube with no hose clamps. And it lasted the time I had it. So just buy some quality rubber hose.

The OEM designed-to-fail pipe is the lower one in the pic below.
The top one is the flexy one described in the blurb below the pic. Sadly, the guy who was going to make them is a) in Americaland and b) doesn't seem to have got(ten) around to making them yet.
Anyone know of an Aussie who makes them? Surely there are enough SEs here with the same split OEM pipe as mine?
Or will Sir Lightyear assist me with not just advice, but also with doing the job with his recommended rubber hose?

But here is the “readers digest” version of the thread:
The MSM OEM oil drain line has proven to be problematic because it is rigid and if it gets bent during installation, it is prone to cracking soon after. Typically this is not a problem if the turbo has never been removed from the car, though some have still seen issues.
Many have come up with their own solutions, but the one pictured above is mine. It is still a pain to install, but it is forgiving because it is slightly flexible and if it bends a bit, it wont break. It is made entirely of 304 stainless steel, and a combination of welding and silver brazing is used to assemble it. This means it will last in the heat. There will be 1 or 2 small changes from what is pictured above because the original was just a hair too tight to fit a socket on. These will not impact reliability or performance. The flanges are machined flat after all other operations are completed to ensure a good seal.
It comes with OEM gaskets, and you will need to re-use your existing hardware.
Price is $81 shipped in the 48 US. Message me for quotes for shipping to HI/AK/International.
Group buy is open through March 13, 2015.

Once the group buy is closed, then I will start work on the parts, which will take approximately 1 month to complete, mostly due to waiting on the flexible tube order, and cutting the flanges. After I fill the group buy orders, the oil drain line will be available in stock for $90 in my online store.

I have 3 cars and a house to work on.
It is pretty easy to cut the pipe, and put some high temp rubber hose on. Just do it with a cold motor. And leave an inch of the original pipe at each end to push the rubber hose on.

You mean metal pipe external diameter. Get a micrometer to measure. Get a high temp rubber pipe with a matching ID. A small piece of braided line would work too.

Yes, I do mean that, or the internal diameter of the rubber pipe. Being lazy, and also trying to have the rubber pipe ready before the dismantling and cutting takes place.

For fucks sake, just measure it.
You'll be taking it off the car anyway, so why not just take it off, measure the pipe, go to Pirtek/Enzed whoever and buy the hose, then come home.
Hell, if you don't want to measure it just take the part in to Enzed and ask for oil and temp hosing to fit it.

Sadly, your command of the English language is better than my ability with spanners .
Fortunately the latter will be solved in a week when I return to work at a Mazda dealership when a Mazda Master Tech will be able to do some of the work on the car that's too complicated for me (nearly all of it ).

Dave you can call Pirtek and they come out and fix stuff for like $50.00 call out + the price of the hose.
These guys have everything you could ever need. I called them out to fix a hose on my tube bender.
It was about 38mm diameter and he made one up on the spot and charged me $180.00. + GST. Got to look after my mate Tony.

Considering where the pipe is, $50 plus the cost of 3 inches of small pipe would be the bargain of the century!
