I installed an elcheapo lightweight flywheel and clutch kit early in the year. It did 3 laps of P.I and failed. All the friction material delaminates and turned to fibres with some small chunks. Leaving the tin centre piece with no material on it.
Then I installed an Extreme brand clutch kit. Had the flywheel machined too.
Seemed ok, did 2 x track days and a skid pad day. Then 5 laps at Sandown before the clutch died.
This time the friction material was more intact, and the tin centre piece had torn itself apart. Separating the inner portion from the outer portion. There are no heat marks on the pressure plate or flywheel.
When I first started (a few years ago) I used to put it in the wrong gear accidentally, and do some dumb shyt. Never had an issue even with a turbo.

I have not heard great things with xtreme clutches in the drifting/Nissan circles.. clutches exploding or similar?
However I have a exedy 1.8L button clutch if your interested model number MZK-6964HDB. It was used behind turbo 1.6 engine with 150kw never had a problem and still has plenty of life in it.
its $200 on ebay and comes with 1.8L flywheel.

I have a lightweight 1.6 flywheel. And prefer to keep using it. So can't use 1.8 clutch.

I have an Exedy Sports Tuff from Mania on an NA8 flywheel. I think they make 1.6 models. Mine's done over 3,000 laps and 40,000kms daily driving. If you break that then you need driving lessons.

I agree with the suggestions for Exedy, I know many people using them and not a single one has had issues, even the ones with turbo etc or who drive pretty agressively (granted, not track)
I've got a Valeo clutch in my NB and well.. it's average. It slips sometimes, it shudders sometimes, it's just generally sh*t.
In saying that, I didnt get my flywheel machined at the time, so that may be the shudder. And my rear main is leaking like mad whihc would explain the slipping.

Break in issues didn't cause the centre to tear itself out of the clutch...

If by Nanna, you mean slow? Then no, I don't do slow.
Zossy is right, no easy break in procedure would cause this issue. Slipping I could handle. At least I could drive home from an event.
An oem clutch would have not failed like this. So these aftermarket "performance" clutches are really just rubbish.
