I reckon the red cover looks better. Polished or chrome under bonnet bling always looks like too much work for me to consider, though I do tend to clean my engine bay most times I lift the bonnet. I like it to be clean and have some visual impact.

I thought Snowie was going to have more of a track focus..... You're actually adding weight?!

When I saw the first shot of the door I was expecting it to be the start of a 'gutting' process.....

A kilo of deadening doesnt bother you as much when you have 300whp to push it along.

Nice work Richard! Making me thing about engineering!

BTW...considered water-methanol injection? I gained 13rwkW on my car!

Yeah yeah I know, but the whole point to getting it registered was to be able to drive on the road and to the track. I'm sure an extra couple of kg's in Dynomat wont make much difference to my lap times but it makes a heap of difference to the audio and music is a big part of my life. Plus I'm on a diet so that has to help as well. :D :D

It's been a while and not much has happened but I did manage to finally secure the coils down properly with the addition of an SE rocker cover.
Sad to see the polished one go but this one says "Turbo" so extra bonus for that :D :D
Also put back on the ported intake but can't sell the polished one as have other plans for that and it just so pretty.

Off to Melbourne to the engineering show most of next week so car will be left at Ricols for the final tune.
Should hopefully see some good numbers soon.

So Colin finally finished the last tune with the Bosch 800 injectors. Thanks Suli.
Pretty decent numbers but we are now at the limits of the 2560. Didn't matter how much we turned up the boost it settled back to around 17psi.
Still, very happy with 280rwhp and 370N.M on E85

For me it is scary fast but maybe I'm a bit of a "puss puss"

Haven't given it any thought Bryan but you have given me some more food for thought.

I've got a shipment of stuff coming in a couple of weeks. Let me know if you want to add it in.

I always figured 270rwkw was more than enough for an NA/NB (from memory, that's what charlie91 "nobbled" his car down to at the track and he had aero, wide tyres and that youthful "I'm indestructable" attitude so that he was prepared to use it), anything more than that isn't usable and is just for bragging rights (which is a nice thing to have but nothing practical).

Gina the "Garage Queen" is gonna bitch-slap you for that comment (even though it's true).

Hey guys, how's it going?
Recently bought a 90 NA6 that's been turbo'd, and I'm going to try and engineer it in Sydney so I can blue slip. The only thing I'm really worried about is the emissions test. I believe it's running a megasquirt (I'll have to have a look and research exactly which version it is), so I was just wondering if anybody knows who'd be best to help me? I'm of course happy to pay. Apparently it's running a home-done approximate tune at the moment. The rest seems like fairly straight forward basic mechanical work I shouldn't have a problem with. Was hoping to spend about a grand on engineering, with any extra costs on top due to the work it'll need (it's got an atmo BOV at the moment, intercooler is just held on by it's pipes, etc)

Look forward to your replies.
Chris
