Re: BEAVIS' White Track Car
Have not done much race car stuff lately, but I have tinkered with the NA 'hot rod' a little bit.
Been getting the NB door trims to fit and all the NB door gizzards installed in the NA doors.
Trying to do a proper job of it, not just a hack effort. All the NB door latch mechanisim is installed, had to do some welding to get the NA outter door handle mechanisim to work with the NB inner mechanisim.
Also an issue was getting the NB door wiring loom looped through, as the holes on the NA chassis and NA door are not large enough for the NB loom grommets.
On the NA, also installed the rear garnish.
And I decided to pain the tyres on the race car, just in case I forget my name.

That font does look a little immature.

Nb trims look great - well done.
I like the name on the tyres, especially being a race car

Re: BEAVIS' White Track Car
Ripped the dash out of the car this week and started fiddling with the stock wiring loom.
Removed all the black tape, my hands got covered in glue from the tape.
Removed two plastic shopping bags worth of wires from under the dash, about 3kg
Started to make myself a electronics board with fuse box for all the gadgets in the car
The end result... the red lights light up when a fuse blows.
Made a little filler panel for the gap between the bonnet and windscreen, because who needs wipers.

Re: BEAVIS' White Track Car
Long overdue for an update... been busy I spose.
Went to Winton over a month ago now for a half day of Short Track and a half day of Long Track.
Thankfully, weather was good, but my tyres were getting pretty old... I managed a new best time on the Short Track, but was about 1.5 secs off my best on the Long Track.
Video of Short Track:
And a Video of Myself and Lightyear:

Cool video. I hope I won't be overtaken by you next time. Doesn't seem right. If you get any more serious, I will have to finish the C.F car.
It looks so underpowered driving out of the S's up to turn one.

Re: BEAVIS' White Track Car
Had a tough day at Calder Park a few weeks ago with the WRX club.
The track is darn bumpy and i just didn't have any straight line speed (10km/h slower at the end of the straight.... need to tune the ecu) and felt down on grip.
More awesome pics at http://p1racephotography.com.au
Needless to say, at the end of the day I had an excuse for the lack of grip:

Re: BEAVIS' White Track Car
And final update for the week...
Attended the MX-5 Club Gymkhana Day for some legal drifty slides last weekend.
Drove the Lightyear car for the day.
Wouldn't be right if I didn't throw together a video now would it:

Re: BEAVIS' White Track Car
Hey Brendan,
Wow what a tight course layout, using only half the skidpan?? If the club offerred quarterly or monthly skidpan events I would sign up without hesitation, good fun and good facility.
Would you take the white track car for some gymkhana action next time, with spacesavers or steelies on

I dont think it would suit the car much, i think my NA8B would be better suited to it.
