Garage Vary Hardtop Fastbacks

Postby madkeen » Fri Apr 24, 2015 1:40 pm

So i just saw these for the first time today. Not normally a huge fan of the NC shape, but it seems to be the best with a Fastback lid on it for my eyeballs.

Looks like a half fastback, half hardtop. Prefer mine. But I am biased... They kept it short of the boot, so the boot can stay Oem. Should make it much cheaper. I may be doing an NC mould for a fastback at some stage too.

I feel you underestimate both Garage Vary and Rev9 :P

as far as the GV one goes.
looks like crap to me,side windows have a weird line to them, stops way too soon. Overally looks like they've tried to make a budget version.

To date the only fastbacks i've seen that look good are the ones Lightyear makes, the Autoconnexion ones and the others all look like a backyard job and don't flow with the car.
Oddly, Lightyear's ones ARE made in a backyard and they look great.

Don't like any of those.
Prefer all series with the conventional HT.
Even the limited production NB Coupes didn't look as good as an NB with a standard HT.

More of an s2k style hardtop than a fastback.
It's a cool idea, and the quality will be great, but not really my cup of tea.

I actually agree with you there.

To me the MX5 shape doesnt really work with a fastback, the back end of the car is too narrow.

Lightyear's are the best ones I've seen, since they taper slightly towards the rear it give the illusion of the rear being wider than it actually is.

but yeah, the factory hardtop still works best.

In profile, it's a nice silhouette.
