Buyers Advice Needed
Hi - I'm trying to sell my 2001 MGF and want to get a 2007-2008 MX5 with the hardtop. Yes I have the convertible bug. Unfortunately car dealers try to rip people off on trade ins, so I just have to wait on my MG selling. Any advice on what to look for when buying? I'm in Vic and there is not too many on the market with low klms. Any advice appreciated.

You cannot go too far wrong with an NC and its a lot better car than an MG much as I like their classic cars. The main thing about selling the MGF is asking a price that it will sell at. Dealers don't want thees cars and for that matter many other used cars- the market is cactus for used cars at least to sell. . Nothing wrong with buying an NC from a reputable dealer just check out the usual things of KMs condition etc.

The NC's are a nice car. Bit maligned by some, but I like them. I was searching for a PRHT last year. Finished up with a low mileage NB SE instead (whole other story
)
I should imagine prices and deals will only get better the closer we get to the release of the ND, so you're probably in the market at about the right time.
Do your research and take as many for test drives as you have time for (including the different models). There's a marked difference in the personality of each model. Maybe even see who's available locally to you who'd be willing to take you for a drive in their own cars and pass on their knowledge and experiences. The forum community is very helpful and there's always someone willing to help out.
