Have they done a built engine yet? That would make for a good series of episodes.

As for MX5 vs S2K, it doesn't matter who wins, it's just good fun. There's always more power if you want to go after it (to a point). I hope Marty keeps his MX5.

Okibi, love the top banner!

Kinda feel like I had my own "Might Car Mods - Pimp Your Ride" moment earlier this week ...

Wife was complaining of a metallic squeaking noise in her Toyota Echo when braking. Figured probably due for some new disc pads. Told her to leave it & take mine to work so that I could take a quick look at it ...

Next morning, jack the car up, put the stands under, remove the front wheels ... discs & pads look fine, can't replicate the noise. Decide to give the brakes a good clean, put some of that brake goo stuff on the pad backing plates to stop them rattling and put it all back together. No noise on a test drive ...

Done ...

SO ... I recall she'd recently mentioned that she couldn't get her radio working properly. There's a Pioneer HU in the shed ... hmmm ... ok - quick Google & looks pretty easy to do. Down to $upercheap for a 1 din surround with cubby and OEM wiring harness ... ok while I'm here her car's due for a service, may as well do it myself ... oil, oil flush, oil filter, air filter, spark plugs, blah blah ...

Get home again ... jack it up again ... place stands under again ... and wow! easiest car ever to do an oil and oil filter change!! Oil drain plug luckily conveniently takes same size crush washer as the MX's & I have enough of those spare! All working out well so far ...

Finish service in super quick time ... move inside ... as per Google'd instructions remove dash fascia & stock radio, replace with new trim & fit in new HU, plug in harnesses ... done!! Easiest head unit install I've ever done as well!!

So .... what now? ... Hmmm, my Racing Harts are not doing anything in the shed ... specs are all correct ... change over all the wheels & drop it down. The wheels really look great on it! Take it for a drive & feels great.

Get back home and now just have to finish this off properly ... so give it a wash. Can't believe the amount of junk from under the wheel arches, so give it a good spray under the car as well. Dry it off, give it a polish, vacuum and detail the interior ...

DONE!!!!

Goes better, sounds better, looks so much better ...

oh yeah & no squeaky noise

Here she is, after a day's work & fun, all ready for when dearest gets home from work ...

Man, I bet that earned you a few brownie points! Every now and then I'll do an oil change for my girlfriend or wash her car, but you went all out!
