What do you buy your wife for her birthday?

Postby speed » Tue Apr 14, 2015 6:54 pm

Maybe a Mx5. Lol

Sorry, not Mx5 related but I seem to be getting worse at this every year.

What did you get your missus and did she like it?

If there is no posts from me tomorrow, I may be buried on my back yard.

Thanks in advance and bring on the funnies :)

Last year I bundled up the kids and went and stayed with the olds for the weekend.

I still have no idea what she got up to while we were gone but anyone would have thought it was my birthday with the reward I got for that little stunt ;)

Legit answer?

Had the advantage of talking about it a few weeks prior but yes, was well received. In hindsight, would have bought a dedicated running tracker instead but it does the job.

A trip to Deckspeed with me and BARMY. No, really.
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

A nice shovel.

Seriously, though - a personal item in a favourite colour is a good safe bet. I was really struggling one year and stumbled across a pair of nice Oakley sunglasses in her beloved purple on special at DFO - that was a big winner.

There's always the scattergun approach, too - expensive chocolates, nice booze and some flowers is a coverall, although it does smack of "I couldn't think of anything"...

You've posted elsewhere, speed, so we can assume you haven't been murdered, although it's possible you're in hiding and sleeping in your car. How'd you get on?

I'm still alive!
Thank you everyone for your input. Gave me the inspiration I needed.

We started out with an Italian restaurant for dinner, then followed by dress shopping.

Wifey was surprised and happy.

Pitty the florist wanted $150 for a small bunch of flowers. Won't be going back there!

All in all she had a great night and I stayed out of the bad books :D

Thanks again everyone!!!

Nothing and that way you keep expectations low :)

So how well did the dress fit you Speed?

Haha. Not as well as your blue figure hugging race suit. :)

You embarrass me, I'm blushing now that you noticed. I can lend it to your wife if you like :)

I was hoping you take that the right way. Reminded me of a degeneration skit where they put voice over an old cop show.

The bloke was wearing a blue figure hugging night gown, hence my phrasing ;)
