Blue Battery Triangle - tips and advice required.
Not sure if having the key in the boot is a good idea, it's easy for it to get napped off in a hit.
With two laps to go then the action will begin, unless this is the action, which it is.

Re: Blue Battery Triangle - tips and advice required.
just buy the usual sticker sheets that people do for CAMS events.
I left mine in my old skyline which had better paint, had it on for 2 years, peeled it off easy and just a quick wipe couldnt tell it was ever there.
I replaced my one on MX5 after a year or so as well, no marks again.
I wouldnt bother with the two cut out switches unless you start doing door to door and its a requirement.

Looking for an SVT motor for this:

Re: Blue Battery Triangle - tips and advice required.
Time to bring back an old thread...
I'm having a real hard time trying to find anywhere that has magnetic triangles for sale. Does anyone have any contacts? If not, does anyone know the dimensions as required by CAMS? I've read that it's 150mm on all sides, but I can't find the actual reference within the CAMS manual itself.

You might need some magnetic sheet for your stickers (and maybe your numbers?). Search items for sale and you'll see my ad.
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

I bought a roll of blue and red book contact at the newsagent for like $6 and just cut the triangles before each event.

All good options that will be acceptable for a club track day, I'm sure. Especially since at the last day, they were handing out ones made from contact.
But I'd still prefer to get a proper one made up if at all possible. Just because it'll look nicer. Worse case scenario is I just buy some blue magnetic sheet and cut it myself, although I'd much prefer a shop finish on the edges.

You can buy pre cut ones from pretty much every race shop, they're self adhesive and come with a small white border so it's still visible on dark (or blue) cars.
If you want something re-usable, and paint safe, why not look into the static cling sheeting? often used for window stickers etc.
it's a lot more flexible than magnetic sheet, and less likely to lift at the edge and fly off at speed.
Also, being thin, you can neatly cut it at home without having odd edges like mag sheets.

Yeah, you can even get them from the CAMS website as stick on ones.
I would've thought the static window stuff would be more likely to come off? I always see them lifting at the sides when on windows (eg P plates / L plates), so I would think it'd be even worse on the outside of the car.

Re: Blue Battery Triangle - tips and advice required.
I just received an email from CAMS. Apparently magnets are not acceptable for use during competition, and a sticker is really the only option. I don't know whether that applies to the MX-5 club's own internal track days, but it looks like the best bet is just to buy a roll of blue contact and away you go.
Not quite the answer I was after, but it at least means I can stop hunting around for the magnetic versions.
