Re: turbo question
I'd love to see a dyno comparison using an NA intake manifold on an NB head (would need an adapter of course).

Re: turbo question
Thanks for the replies guys, although I didn't want to turn it into a why a NB SE is the best car ever over what ever else or if you should have an NA and spend 8k on the engine haha... I'm not interested in modding a car so factory turbo is a good fit for me.
To me if you are rebuilding an engine for what ever reason, and aren't looking for big power and want to sell it, wouldn't you keep it standard? modding something like that makes it harder to move - makes it look like someone has spent money trying to upgrade it, had reliability issues and needs to move it on because it's turned into a money pit... look at carsales.. only one SE with a NA8 head. (funny thing is if you read the full add it has the original asking price of 20k! now they have it at make an offer..) the ad has the parts list of what was done - don't remember seeing anything to do with ECU/injectors or anything else on the list..
impressions are everything aren't they haha.. and there is another one on there that sold about a month or two ago and has been put back on the market again... suss much?!?
How hard can it be to find an unmolested SE ... That hasn't had some magical number plucked out of the sky as a price... they are worth 11-15K max for an 11+ year old car!... (yes they are worth what someone is willing to pay / if you wait long enough someone will pay it / yes you sell it for what you want / there's not many so a premium can be asked (I call bullshit every mx-5 has a bullshit premium attached to it)
one day it will happen haha although i may have lost my hair and therefore will be in full mid life crisis and shouldn't have a convertible hahaha

Re: turbo question
As in the NA head one - nope... just wanted to know whether it was the standard thing to do if you have a head go on them.. or if it sounded like a backyard job to get it to run to sell. - why a head would need a rebuild at 100k is a bit of a concern though - hard life perhaps.
but given the quick turn around the last 2 SE's that have been sold have had is getting a bit of attention.. looks like they have issues and people try to move them on..

Re: turbo question
just read that.. maybe didn't make sense.. the last two that have been sold have been re-advertised by the new owners within a month or two.
