The threads are stripped on at least one on my seatbelt tower bolts, as are the threads on the body inside the towers.
Does anyone in or around SE Melbourne have the kit in the title, otherwise know as a Helicoil kit in other parts of the world?
Happy to swap the use of an M10 - 1.25 kit which is the correct size for at least the seat runner bolts. Also happy to pay for the use of your 7/16 kit and one coil. Trying to avoid the purchase of another full kit though.
Please also let me know if you can confirm or deny that the correct size for this job is 7/16 UNF.

Amazingly there's already been a probably positive response to this. If it turns out as expected I may even be able to help out others in SE Melbourne or who come to Vic track days who've got the same issue.

All sorted, by Head Shed in Mornington. If anyone else wants a proper job of a seatbelt tower install with the correct (custom made) bolts, spacers etc to suit a BD rollbar, give me a shout for Craig's number. As it happens, he also does work on cylinder heads, including on MX5s.
