How to pick NA Limited Edition
G'day all, is there a bulletproof way to ID a NA LE if the vehicle doesn't have the LE build tag.
Does the VIN confirm it on a website? My understanding of a LE is:
- circa 91 build
- British racing green (Neo green metallic as well??)
- tan leather interior with head rest speakers
- LE wheels
- LE nardi steering wheel and woodgrain numbered gear knob
- LE door scuff panels ?
Thanks for the help

If you mean an Australian domestic market (ADM) NA, ie VIN beginning with JM0NA, then contact Mazda Australia by phone: 1800 034 411 or email: <CustomerServiceEnq@mazda.com.au>, with the VIN from the firewall requesting the info you want. If the VIN contains NA6CE then it's JDM not ADM.

Not for an ADM NA LE as far as I know.
My understanding of a LE is:

There was no Neo Green metalic ADM NA6 LE.
- tan leather interior with head rest speakers
- LE wheels
Only the ADM 1993 red NA6 LE had LE wheels, ie BBS - ADM 1990 NA6 LE had standard NA6 wheels.
- LE nardi steering wheel and woodgrain numbered gear knob
ADM 1990 NA6 LE had a black leather Momo steering wheel not Nardi.
- LE door scuff panels?
ADM NA LE:
1990 Neo Green (solid no metalic)/Tan 300 released
1991 Malibu Gold 55 released
1993 Classic Red/Tan 100 released
1996-1997 Neo Green/Tan 75 released
Some more specific info on ADM 1990 NA6 LE here:

Re: How to pick NA Limited Edition
Depends which le you're looking at.
There were na6 le's and na8 le's.
The na8s has less wooden bits inside and we're metallic BRG (marina green mica).
Some eunos models are v - specials which were essentially the same thing just destined for Japan.
The na6 le also came in silver of the top of my head, but I don't know if that was just the imported v - special or not.
No idea if a vin check is possible, but good research should weed out any fakes, if there are fakes.

Re: How to pick NA Limited Edition
Hi guys, I rang Mazda Australia and they confirmed the car as being a SE or special edition.... I couldn't get any more info than that, is SE and LE the same for a NA6 '90 built ADM?

Re: How to pick NA Limited Edition
Appreciate what Mazda Australia have advised you, but Mazda Australia have never referred to a 1990 ADM NA6 SE before, however there were JDM V Specials around that time: viewtopic.php?f=76&t=47316

Re: How to pick NA Limited Edition
Btw, I've got screenshots of the Mazda Australia webpage for the MX5 NA as it appeared about a decade ago, which details ADM NA models & numbers - I'll post it later today.

Re: How to pick NA Limited Edition
VIN is JMONA, Australian delivered, I have read on another MX5 site that Mazda referred to them as SE, however everywhere else it's LE, hence the confusion.

Re: How to pick NA Limited Edition
Mazda Australia definitely referred to the ADM NA Limited Editions as a Limited Edition. Only ADM MX5 SE was the 2004-2005 NB8D turbo. Here's the Mazda Australia webpage screenshots to remove any doubt:

Re: How to pick NA Limited Edition
I imagine the LE/SE thing is just a matter of people getting the words mixed up.
Special Edition, Limited Edition, are pretty much used interchangably in discussions and used car ads. (hell, I've seen a fair few cars listed as "Special edition" because the owner put on a set of ugly wheels and a crap sticker)

Re: How to pick NA Limited Edition
Thanks again for the input so far, the car is a Dec '90 build and is Neo over tan leather.
So it seems to tick the boxes so far.

If it's a 1990 LE, one of the plates at the top of firewall on the driver's side should have colour as HU.
