Ok here are the results before and after s/c.

originally 103.8 kw atw , 200 NM torque at 4400 rpm

supercharger 118.79 kw atw, 325.7 NM torque at 5083 rpm

Boost pressure 7 psi, air fuel ratio 11.8-13.6

The car is quite torquey and with standard diff a lot more enjoyable.

Plan is too deal direct with cosworth and my mechanic too tune.

Interesting to see how it pans out.

Have you checked the by-pass actuator to make sure it isn't fouling on the aircon lines??

Reg my mechanic is probably the best tuner in queensland, pretty sure he would have checked everything.

His fathers car mx5 se was at the shop. Chris simply raisd boost pressure on the Se to get 160 hp, standard exhaust. Chris says it is quicker than my car.

He could well be the best tuner in Queensland. But is the best mechanic?? That's two different things.

a SE yes you can simply wind on some more boost and get more power....its a bit harder to wind more boost on to the MP62 setup.

It's sounding like Danny's setup could have been a more viable option for you....at least it's locally made and you would have had his full support.

Cosworth have sold all rights to the supercharger.
It would have been sourced from Flyin Miata in the US.
Those power figures are abyssmal!!!

Has anyone played with the cam timing, have you checked to see if it's correct.
Even Cosworth got it wrong on some engines they built and it's not unheard of for an engine to come from the factory with the timing off.
Look through the big forums posts on Cosworth owners thread there are two IIRC examples of that and plenty where CW did not come up to expectations.

Mate has a 94 NA8 with a rotrex on it. Goes to 10psi boost, 138KW at wheels. Xede piggy back ECU.
I have a 96 NA8 engine in a clubby with AVO Turbo, ~8psi, 162 Kw at the wheels. Exhaust is 2.5" throughout.

Have you got any dyno plots?

The numbers sound like they have stuck a roots type blower on there.

Engineering isn't a worry, it was ecu without going down the reflash route and without going full rewire. much easier now with the new ecu's controlling drive by wire which will be a pnp solution. I think a small frame gtx would shine on an NC.

Hey Novice.

I obviously don't know you from a bar of soap but just want to say good luck resolving this mess. I recently bought an NA8 and have dreams of someday adding a turbo/supercharger for lots more kick. Your unfortunate experience sounds like my worst car nightmare! I live in Brisbane - so Bullet may well have been where I head for some extra oomph some day!!!

I hope some of the shared knowledge and mechanical-smarts on this forum can help you resolve it all. Unfortunately i can offer little mechanical insight. I also hope Bullet do the right thing by you! 10k is a lot of coin to not end up with lots of extra kw. Good luck mate!

I willkeep you informed. On another note I have had several replies with other unsatisfied Bullet customers.

I would rcommend the Kraftwerks kit. Cheaper more power but about 4-6 month wait tillany shipped to Oz.

Ron, I think you're a little out of line here.
I have the Cosworth kit and installed it myself. It has been almost totally faultless since the install and is developing excellent horsepower and torque.
The huge benefit of this system is its driveability with bucketloads of torque at very low rpm it drives just like OEM except it feels like it has a far bigger engine under the bonnet.
It also uses less fuel at cruise and around town, only swilling when the throttle is used hard.
Yes the KW system will produce better peak number but I think that you'll find a properly installed and tuned Cosworth/FM will yield more area under the line.

I am yet to go for a drivein a properly sorted Cosworth supercharged NC true.

I have been for a drive in two NC,s with suoercharger kits. I will be surprised and eat my words if the Cosworth orovides the performance of the Kraftwerks kit.

If the Kraftwerks kit were availabe I would have chosen it. It wasn,t so I bit the bullet.
