Well I just saw on the news that Clarkson has been Suspended indefinitely due to Punching a Producer in the face !!!

This could be the end !!

It had to end some time, it's been going downhill for a while.
This should be the end, unless they can get tiff in and make it a proper motoring show.

I stopped watching the show years ago.

The review segments were just silly, and seemed to be a bit pointless.

I did enjoy the longer travels, and the more oddball challenges, but the challenges seem to be getting a bit repetitive, and the long travel episodes are feeling quite scripted.

To me it feels like each presenter has become a caricature of themself, and the show now feels almost like watching a cartoon.

I think the obvious question is whether topgear can survive without him. Personally I want to like TG but find it a bit painful to watch in recent years, not really into their brand of humour and I get a bit tired of them "reviewing" cars that I'll probably never afford.

I hope he keeps the job as I know it will disappoint a lot of people if he gets the flick.

i used to watch it also.. having one TV in the home the rest of my family couldn't stand it, becuase of clarkson.

Top Gear IS Clarkson's show, without him I can't see it surviving long. I wouldn't mind Fifth Gear replacing it though.

... just wish Sam Newman would get the axe on the AFL's Footy Show, he's had way too many warnings and is an arrogant, self-indulged prick who can dish it out but turns into a cry-baby when he's on the end of a joke. I still remember when Garry Lyon switched the pen he annoyingly kept flicking during the show with an exploding one - Sam got quite a shock when it went off with a mild crack and muttered something about it being juvenile then sulked for the rest of the show. If he masterminded it, he would have thought it hilarious. The pie in the face to David Schwatrtz was out of line too and he got what he deserved from that (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AO8JMyJFfqo)

As a Croweater living in Queensland you don't get much Aussie Rules info but I can't stand Sam Newman so don't watch it.

Sam Newman is the AFL's Footy Show without him AFL would be more of a drag than it is now

What is a proper car program? People are looking for entertainment and serious discussion is not what TG offers. It's outrageous reality and larrikinism and is one of BBCs jewels for making money. They need a Clarkson and viewers would excuse just about anything. The ratings have said it all in the past.

Top gear has not been a car show for a long time, its a show that just happens to have cars in it.

I heard on the radio today thay apparently the BBC only owns 47% of top gear while Clarkson (and another person) own 53%, meaning that Clarkson would have to sack himself.
Whether or not the BBC keep the show in any form is another question.

Do like Tiff but find fifth gear to be a bit repetitive. Watched a few Aussie and U.S. Episodes of top gear but couldn't get into them.
Why can't Australia make its own completely original car show without it being totally bogan.. Oh well not like any of the UK top gear presenters need the money.

There's a few of them, they just don't have the million dollar per episode budget. "TV" is a pretty loose term these day anyway considering the number of screens your average house hold has in it.
