I don't really know what to say about that..... Well I do, but as you are new I will just say well done, looks good and I'm sure it's an improvement over standard. Is it?

Mx-5s aren't the best for sound but Iv changed the fronts to a set of Focal splits. Added an amp and the difference is very noticeable even at high speed low volume with the roof down.

I like the look of those baffles. I hacked up the original covers to fit as a rain cover. Might look at these if I revisit it in the future

Yeah much better than standard. I had one blown on the LHS. Had to be replaced. But yeah you can listen to your tunes quite clearly on the freeway with the roof down.

Here are the mids in Scooby. All the dynamat is overkill but you just must seal the speaker properly.

Are you running polks as well? Nice job with the sealing. That dynamat looks a lot better than the stock plastic wrap.

Wow... check out the pro's!

Makes me feel positively ghetto rigged... still, got to get the jigsaw out every now and then and use it on sommic! This was a "temporary two week fix" knocked up nearly 2 years ago (so it was fast and rough)..

Nice baffles by the way, might have to look into those...

Here are my (a little more humble) 6 1/2 polks! (i have 6x9's DXi in the cubbies behind the seat low passed)... next steps (I have some reno's first) is that roll of dynamat that lives in the boot... at this rate, June next year...

Nice speakers man. How do they sound? I got the tweeters as well but didn't decide to install them to keep the job minimal. As long as it works thats all that matters. So why did you make the mounting bracket? Were you provided with a universal one with your polks?

The speakers are Opus Crescendo 9 -2 way. The covers come with them and should be installed even if behind a grill.
They're serious SQ speakers but definitely not for everyone though.

I'm yet to hear a better 2 way front stage but everyone's ears is different.

They sound good as a run of the mill 6 1/2 instal l(polk 4ch amp) can sound in a roadster... I did a pink noise/RTA analysis roof up/down windows up/down... The roof up/down tells me that trying to go efficient in such a crook environment is difficult (the factory bose compensates digitally) and the windows up/down tells me I need dynamat and baffles as the windows shut acts sealed.

Grunt fixes everything...

The brackets are to attach a 6 1/2 inch speaker into an 8 inch hole (no one had Focal IS-200's on their sound panels), part of the reason I went Polk is they are marine spec. The backwards inside out bose speakers have weirdo cutouts which need shaving if you want to put an 8 inch after market in there as well.

It was a convalescing install, a Lacerated thumb (in a splint) means not much control over the jigsaw...

What are you doing for tweets? do the NB's have component speakers ie using factory tweet?

Bear's install looks the biz, mine is amateur hour... I would do things differently if i started again.
