Tom's Turbo Garage: V8 MSM Conversion

Postby Nevyn72 » Sat Feb 21, 2015 3:30 pm

Looking for something to do on a wet weekend? :mrgreen:

Here's a YouTube series that's just started of someone doing a V8 conversion to a NB SE.
So far he's pretty much finished dismantling a perfectly good car...... :|

It makes sense from a power/weight perspective.
It does not make sense from a cost/laptime perspective.

But if I had the money to spend, I would do it.

Nothing against the conversion per se, was more a dig at Lou than anything :D

Damn you Nevyn, since you've posted this I've been pouring through Tom's videos! Whole mornings go by on the weekends without me even leaving the couch (computer is hooked into the TV)!

I love his MX-5s of course, but it's his other builds I find fascinating, cars I don't know much about or that we don't get locally. The Buick Grand National build was really cool to me, and I love the idea of the sleeper Gallant daily driver. This weekend I can't wait to watch the Talon build. :mrgreen:

If anyone's interested he's finally finished and you can view the whole 12 part series of the process here;

I really love his attention to detail and the finished product is awesome! :mrgreen:
I just wish I had his workshop, skills, tools, budget, patience...... :|
