While we're on the subject, the car could also have ebola. You should definitely buy a good hard working Australian car with no history of ebola or cut and shut.

When Grey imports started coming into the country. They were significantly less in price than their AU delivered ones. while in the mid to late 90's you would pay around $25 k for an early NA6. The JDM ones were maybe a good 5K cheaper. That's why it still perhaps has this cheap thing about it. maybe.

Then there was the km on these imports. as well as having different badges. I remember in the early naughtiest a lot of peeps tried to pass off JDM's as AU delivered ones.To achieve a hiegher selling price.

But these days......I wouldn't care one way or the other. Its a 25 yo car. most have a shiteload of KM on it. Mine has just passed the 300k km mark. Its been raped & pillaged in its life. But still goes. I can't see a JDM model being any different. It just needs to be checked out like any other car. as has already been mentioned.

:D :D :D

Pretty sure the car will be ebola free but thanks for bringing that to my attention - I'll add it to my checklist! :D :D :D

Just found another thread on this site from a few years ago and it also mentioned power steering, viscous lsd, foldable sunvisors, fog lights, red reflectors in the rear bumper, logo on the wheels (instead of the word "Mazda") and electric antenna as bits that the JDM cars had different to AU cars so it's looking more and more like an AU car as it doesn't have any of these things..... except for the lsd which I didn't check.

I think you're right StanTheMan - it's an old car and no matter where it comes from it's likely to have a "colourful" history by now and while it's not a huge amount of money that we're talking about I plan to keep it for a while so I'm just trying to find out as much as I can before I buy.

Cheers
