Ok, so I put a pair of Elise S2 seats in the car.
At great expense, buying seats, rails, and custom brackets/install.
They feel great. But, they are a hard shell seat and tbh, a bit hard on me old bones.
And although Lisa said she was 'ok' i suspect a bit uncomfortable.
So, on some inspiration from Jeff this morning, Lisa sacrificed her Yoga matt (she will find out next time she goes to use it)
It is the perfect material for padding a seat.
Would be excellent in a Sparco.
And both seats can be done from one matt.
Simply cut to size with a sharp knife, throw over your choice of seat cover, and whamo, comfy seat with very little height gain. Should be fine for interstate drives and track days (to be tested at QR on Monday)
PS if you want the car to look good for club day or something, simply rip off and throw the bits in the boot!
Or get a better fitting seat cover

Re: Partners Sacrifice
Are you just rubbing our noses in your new seats? As if we weren't jealous enough already!
Looks like a good idea, I'm sure you could make it look nicer with neater cuts - but I think you told me once that the looks of the car aren't paramount to you these days, the performance is.
I'd like to take a look on Monday at QR, maybe have a sit in them if that's cool

I do have a small amount of pride in how it looks.
But it is a practical vehicle with a job to do.
Yes, cuts were rough, took me about ten mins to do it all.
But hidden by seat covers.
Your welcome to sit in it, as long as you dont beat my times on the track LOL

Just put a pillow in it.
I suspected the seats were back breakers.

I've got a layer of EVA foam cut to fit the base of my Recaro, then the standard padding over the top of that. Both live in the seat for street duties, the standard cushions coming out for track work as it allows me to get lower and fits more snugly.

Hope your not using a harness with those seats fitted Stu, or if you are you have harness holes in them and they can't be seen with the covers.

Nope, my days of harnesses and probably Sparco are over for time being.
Track fangs will just be for fun at 9.7 tenths instead of 9.9 tenths now. Unless the bug returns in the future.
Anyone want a sparco on rails, and 6 pt?

Re: Partners Sacrifice
You should have saved this mod for Valentine's day - extra seat padding for your better half, it doesn't get any more romantic than that for a car nut!

Unless I have some gift for driving I've never known about, I think your times are safe. It's my first track day, and your car makes a healthy dose more power than mine
