What to look for when your buying NA6

Postby Wiam_7 » Wed Feb 11, 2015 8:03 pm

Hi guys im new to the forum and im buying my first mx5 im really wondering what to look for when inspecting a NA6 Mx5.
But here some of my questions:
1. What would be the average price for a NA6 with RWC and Rego
2. What are the main things to look for
3. Would it be good to bring someone like a mechanic with me to check it out
Thanks Guys for your help :D

This subject has been raised many times. What to look for is a permanent section so take a gander at the forum.
Re your questions
1. Average price take a look at Car sales for guide. Say $6500 +/-650.
2 look for condition and service records on cars that have not been thrashed and abused. Try and get a car which does not have high kms. There are still NAs with reasonable k's
3. Definitely worth having a car checked by mechanic.

These cars can take high km's, so don't let that put you off. As long as your happy with the price, condition, the way it drives/looks, and is mechanically fine. Buy it.
I suggest for $3000 more to buy an NB8B if you don't have your heart set on pop up headlights. You will spend $3000 modding the NA6 before you know it.

I've seen plenty of bargain cars in the for sale section of this forum over the last 12 months. Usually better than car sales, check it out.

Depends..;)

If it's a daily driver....that you want to race and will park it in the open 24/7
buy one that's already modded....

If it's a weekend toy....and you can garage it
Pay top dollar and buy a low k example that isn't greatly modded.....$10K+
look after it, keep it original....I believe Good examples will appreciate
You can't demand respect....you have to earn it
NA8 for Fun, CX5 for carrying crap...;)

Depends on what you want it for, what condition you want, & what state are you in.
