I sold my agi rollbar to a fellow club member a few weeks back. It was a great rollbar but made it almost impossible to fit a race seat in as far back as I needed to fit my lanky 6'3 frame.

A week later I scored a mx5 plus single hoop rollbar second hand. It is obviously lower but at least I can get a seat in bolted to the floor.

Mocked up the velo's in position.

Also got around to replacing the factory steering wheel with a hkb boss kit and a 60 dollar sparco wheel I bought yonks ago. Looks a million bucks but has the strength of a coat hanger. I'll put my hand in my pocket this week for a real wheel

Please give a detailed driving impression when the Velo seats are fitted, and whether they're suited for DD or not.
I expect they'll be a bit of a hassle to get in and out of but I'm curious about whether or not they're comfortable enough for long-ish drives.

Just try not getting pulled over though - you'll get defected for the steering wheel since the car originally came with an airbag in it.

Will do,
They're getting bolted straight to the floor so I guess you'll just kinda roll out of it lol!

Fully aware of the wheel situation. But the leg room it gives is worth it. Unfortunately besides club runs out only really gets dríven to the track and back so I figured I'll take my chances

Looks like a great improvement.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

If I wasn't so paranoid, I'd install a flat-bottomed steering wheel for more leg room - when getting in and out.

I like the idea of a flat bottomed wheel, however I like having a round wheel when things get busy if you know what I mean.

Haven't had much time to update lately but not a great deal to report. Got back on the track yesterday for the nsw/Vic interstate challenge. We beat the Mexicans to hang onto the cup for the next year. Great bunch is blokes and steerers also. I managed a new pb and broke into the 1.04s around amaroo at smsp.

I had time the night before to fit a harness to the car. Still haven't got round to fitting the velo's but this was a big improvement on its own

looking forward to getting to Wakefield in two weeks to see if I can improve on my Pb there! I put the new pb down to my new alpinestars racesuit and rpm gloves (which split)

Then it will be detail time for President picnic late September. Got a lot of ideas of like to finish by then.

Thanks guys. I love driving it on the ragged edge. I want to upgrade the rear swaybar but I feel it could make it worse.

I need to read up on set-up and learn abit more on what does what exactly.

Ha, yeah it definitely sharpens the rear up at night hey.

Looks sweet dude. Is that a whole after market bootlid? Hence no 3rd Brake light?
I saw the led mod a while back on mx5nuts I think. The UK guys love modding 5's
