It will still be a big car for a sports car, or have cars gotten really fat.

The NA6 is a bigger car than a 240Z, and the Z had a L6 under the bonnet!!! The biggest thing is the seating position, in a MX you are sitting at or just in front of the "pivot" point of the car. In older cars like the Z you sit over the rear axle and behind the "pivot" point to give you the room up fron for the longer motor.

So being 35mm shorter and wider than the NA6, it will still be bigger than the old style sports cars, both Japanese and Pommy.

I took the NA6 for a spin today - all 26 years old and 280+ thousand kms of her. I'm pretty sure she has some of her original 86kw left, but I'd estimate only about 62 of them..

What a blast!

As the aircon isn't working on Maniac (nor on the NA6 due to a missing compressor), I'm looking at retiring the SE for a few weeks and taking Kidney to work each day. So much fun!

And this is the very reason I'm thinking I want a 1.5l base model ND for the 3rd MX-5.

It's a shame they haven't designed the soft top so you can see out the
left & right rear for parking overtaking etc.

The Brits did many moons ago.

I really hope they have something on the road in Victoria for less than the high 30grand mark.

My MINI is giving me the sh!ts. Everything I fix costs a fortune - I'd be all over a MX-5 if its under $40k But not 50 grand like the last version of the NC. Just too expensive.

As I've said elsewhere, it's like a Toyota 86 spent the night with a Z4.

Now, both cars have plenty of fans, so this will probably delight many!

Personally, I'm not a fan, though.

No different from a hatch. But the hatch cannot put down its roof.

Although, no one is shouting revelation, so perhaps it's not enough to really get sales going?
The NA6 wasn't a revelation either. Somehow it worked though. Hopefully the ND will be similar.

The NA was a revelation in 1989/90.
