I was never really happy with the Pod filter so I asked Dann to come up with something that would flow better and was also a legal option for the replacement of the SP Carbon Fibre box we all love so much.

So this was the result and I think it worked out really well.

While modifying the inlet we discovered the piping was not quite up to scratch so Dann put pipe beads on all the intercooler and inlet piping. :D :D
This is one of those things that you should just do properly the first time or it will bite your arse at the worst possible moment.
He also remade and moved the BOV plumbing further down, polished the tubing and generally cleaned it all up.
Finally a huge alloy air box was designed and installed finishing off the whole engine bay nicely except for the front strut brace.

Thank you very much Dann. Its a pleasure to work with someone with this kind of knowledge and passion.

The airbox, exhaust and intercooler piping all look fantastic, Dann has done some very nice work.

With that thicker radiator how much clearance do you have between the top hose and the intake pipe? Thats the one bit of my AVO kit that I'm not happy with at all, it looks like Dann's piping leaves far more room, very nice

There's a heap of room but I only have 1 fan on the opposite side. If there was 2 fans it would be very tight.
Have you thought if using slim line fans? That would give you another inch :D :D

I don't have any problems clearing the fans, its the pipe that comes up then does the 90 degree bend to horizontal and meets the throttlebody, it comes really close to the top radiator hose where it does the bend. I'm pretty sure that when the engine flexes on the mounts under torque its probably rubbing, and they helpfully made the pipe as a slightly rough casting. I don't think they designed it with thicker radiators in mind. I like what Dann did on yours, if I was on the east coast I'd probably look into seeing him to get a new one made

Adam, mine was just like yours when it went to Dann for the exhaust.
That section was sh*t so he just fixed that on his own accord. He chucked the original piping and remade it. Much better now.

Looks great Richard, Dann's done some fantastic work.

You should take the car around to CT's and show Elise how good her old daily drive looks.

Then you need to test drive it at Wakefield with the Club. I'm sure that CT will give you a few tips.

Stayed back after work and put the Meisters on. I like it much better now.

Next step is off to the tuner but Ben at Port Hacking Auto is in Canada until the 2nd week in Feb so I'm seriously thinking about taking to Colin at Ricol.
This is a quite a big step for me as the last time I saw him was when he bent the rods in Scooby trying to put 17psi through a stock bottom end.

Love the wheels!
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Thank you Garry for the car bra. It covers up some real ugliness nicely.

Looks absolutely gorgeous... Great work

Perhaps a SD sticker on the back same font in a crest matching our SP's?
