At cosworth power levels I believe I can retain standard clutch and less risk of breaking rods and such. Cosworth kit is very linear.

Hey Ron
Id be keeping an eye on a aftermarket clutch. the OEM clutch is pretty weak when you start throwing power at them (assuming you havent changed the clutch from new)
apart from that you will love the extra poweer/torque!

I will see how it goes with the clutch Regie. Personally I think it will manage at those power levels.

My clutch was fine for 90,000kms with 174rwkw. Probs 10,000+kms left on it when I grenaded the motor.
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

Cosworth kit puts out around 147 kw atw so think clutch will be fine, but thanks for the heads up.

Keen to hear about your dealings with Bullet, Ron. I was in having a chat to them the other day about a Rotrex. I have to go back when the boss is there though.

Re: Bullet superchargers
do you have a NC Dave? or are you talking about your NB??
My OEM Clutch lasted 60,000kms with just a tune and headers before all the material disbonded from the plate itself - talking to some guys its pretty common.
Than again Rob (sailor) is still on the OEm clutch with around 100k kms and has had the cosworth bolted to his car for the last 2 years (170 odd rwkw) - That gets dríven by his wife to and from work on a daily basis so isnt really given a hard time.
Just keep that in the back of your mind, a tow can be expensive if you are out the back of nowhere having a bif of fun with the extra power

Ok clutch will be next priority. Question now is should I do just clutch or clutch flywheel and if the latter which brand clutch flywheel. I am told Mx5 plus " happy meal clutch/flywheel " combo is good with clutch not too heavy.

Hey Ron, that power is with the 3.4 pulley, full oem exhaust and a very conservative tune to get in under the legally allowed power increase.
To get the car engineered you will need to keep the output down.
A header, smaller pulley and proper tune gets much more that 147.
and if you drive like Reggie your clutch will die!
There are two schools of thinking on the flywheel..The go light because light is good ... and the stay OEM because with boost you already have the acceleration you want
and OEM weight quietens the gear noise while making the car far more manageable as a daily drive

Cheers Sailor,
I was going to drop u a line. So your car makes 170 kw atw ? I will see how it goes around the 150 kw mark, maybe enough for me.
