NB seat belt beep
So I have successfully disabled the annoying beeping when the key is in the ignition and the door is open. As simple as a connecter in the steering column (I can now clean inside the car with the radio on and the door open and not go insane)
I was hoping it would disable the seat belt warning beep too but no luck.
Is this possible?
I don't want to disconnect the beep all together as it's good when I accidentally leave the parkers on.
I know when I don't have my seat belt on, I don't need the car bleeping away every time I sit in the car with the ignition on

Doesn't the seat belt alert beep stop after a few seconds?

The plug to the seatbelt stalk? I'll give it a go but won't that mean the car will think the seatbelt is undone all the time?

There will be another one to the seat base, the plug is just under the front edge (blue wire).
EDIT: I just had a thought.... disabling the seat base sensor may interfere with the operation of the airbags and/or seat belt pre-tensioners in the case of an accident....

Re: NB seat belt beep
And that is what I would like to avoid!
Thinking a bit more about it, The metal seatbelt buckle bridges something in the stalk, I might have a look and see if I can close the circuit in the stall so it thinks the belt is buckled all the time.
This would avoid any airbag issues.
Was kinda hoping it would be as simple as disconnecting a plug lle the ignition/door beep

Re: NB seat belt beep
Maybe the 8b is different, but my NB8A won't beep if the belt is unreeled a few inches, regardless of if it's clicked into the belt buckle.
The buckle 100% doesnt have any switch in it, as I removed my NB buckle and replaced with an NA one, the seatbelt beep still works.

Tested that last night. Even with the belt pulled all the way out still beeps. Stops as soon as you click it in the buckle.
Had a quick look at the cabling and all and decided to put this on in the too hard basket

There is a plug next to the steering column under the dash, has a wire that comes from the ignition switch, just have to unplug it.( it's not the wire that comes from the sensor ring for the ignition key)

Re: NB seat belt beep
Is that this one here Lou?
Two green wires to a white plug on the left side of the steering column?
If so this stopped the door beep with the key in the ignition but not the seatbelt warning.
From what I remember the only other plugs were the Airbag and the ignition itself.
I unplugged the plug under the seat which stopped the beep but not sure if this effects airbag operation, plus the dash light was constantly on too.

Buckle up first before you sit down and turn the ignition ON.
Bit of a hassle, it might not be comfy at first, but it beats the annoying beep

Re: NB seat belt beep
If you unplug the cable that goes to the buckle and the air bag light on the dash goes off after you start the car then you have no problem.

Hi Lou,
Unplugged the cable under the seat and yes the airbag light turns off after the car starts.
Now beep free, the way to be
