What is the benefit of a weighted gear knob? Is it better than the standard fitted one?
Thanks

The way ssk's are designed the pivot point is changed meaning less distance but also less leverage to change gears.
My SE gearbox is perfectly fine and have experienced the exact same thing as Maniaclachy.
A friends NB is I think slightly smoother than my gearbox and when installed a ssk she experienced the exact same thing.
Normal gear changes are fine, bit stiffer, Both her and my wife use two hands (gotta be careful what I wrote here ) to get it into reverse now.
I often wonder if a weighted knob would help

...but what about the inertia you have to overcome to get the big mass moving from rest
