morning all,
long time no post.
so my NA8 has some form of aliens!
late 2013 I got cams and ecu fitted and tuned, made 94rwkw and managed to lap a 1.11.8 @ wakie.
I managed to get to wakefield in Nov 2014 and all we could manage was a 1.14.3
I struggled to hit 140kms down the straight where usually I am hitting 160 give or take.
back at the workshop and car is only make 77rwkw
comp is fine with all 4 around 171-179 so consistent.
cams apparantly are all in same timing etc, no changes to the tune - still as is
so now I ask, what the fk!!!
any ideas?
Chris

Re: down on power
Funny, I thought I had posted this ...
Could be cat, they can choke up, or fuel filter.

Crankshaft keyway wear? 1.8 is not immune.
Cam belt jumped a tooth on the crank gear?

Re: down on power
Usual suspects: old/bad fuel, plugs, leads, stretched throttle cable, timing drift, AFR drift, exhaust blockage, air filter/intake blockage, dirty MAF, dodgy MAP, ECT sensor failure, dying fuel pump, fuel filter/line blockage, ....
Also don't discount driver error. Maybe you're just slower getting out of turn 10 and getting the power down later. Runs and hides

Re: down on power
Stretched throttle cable you say?
I did replace it not too long ago...
All the others are all ok apart from fuel filter which I'll change soon

Re: down on power
Just check that you're getting full throttle opening.
Honestly I reckon fuel that just sits there going stale between meetings is one of the main causes of lost power in a track pig.
