NC 2.5 engine swap

Postby Adrianvh » Mon Jan 12, 2015 3:26 pm

My '05 NC is about to spit a rod and I've just purchased a 2012 mazda ^ 2.5 engine with under 20k on the clock.
I'll be swapping them this weekend and will document the whole thing. I've read most posts on Miata.net but there is still some ambiguity on the Crank pulley swap.
Has anyone done this swap in Australia?
Any feedback and hints?

PM Charlie Brown he has a 2.5. Phil is a wealth of knowledge and very helpful.

Or call Daniel/Mick at Deckspeed they do lots of them.

Yep, Deckspeed has done 6 of them last year. They are fast becoming a great mod to do.

If you run the 2.5 head, you will need to modify your intake manifold.

Did you remove all the balance shafts off the 2.5 crank? as far as i know the 2l crank pulley and sump have to be swapped over, thats about it

I'm very interested from a future perspective too.
Is the 2.5 crank forged or cast :?:
