Kraft Werks Supercharger NC MX5

Postby powerup » Wed Apr 16, 2014 10:27 pm

Hi guys n gals has anyone installed the kraft werks supercharger or any of the rotrax superchargers (bullet) on an NC

I have seen the GT plus kit its more than double the price and i want to understand why.
Obviously I am on a budget but i do understand that you get what you pay for.
Anyone had any experience here please let me know as I am definitely supercharging my MX5 I just need to know whats going to be the best "bang" for my buck.

also any suggestions for ECU control motec? haltech? HKS? ideas?

What is your budget? This will help people give you assistance within your budget.

As I have said previously a Bugatti Veyron is chump change for Bill Gates.

Haltec costs as much as a motec ... Given the choice id pick a motec. Most of the NC stuff seems to go the re flash route though.

OK, that will be my MX5 :)

Car is going great and very user friendly. Power just keeps climbing to redline. I think it gives the power the little MX5 deserves.

Greg from Parsons motors did terrific clean install (and solved many kit challenges, and added a oil scavanger - top left)

and Daniel from Deckspeed Racing did a great job on the tune. Achieved 165kW (221 hp) at 7.6 psi

Would like to move the air intake as it sucks in hot air once the fan kicks in. Daniel suggested was losing about 10kW because of this. Any idea about how to get the air intake to cool air?

This would also I hope fix the other small annoyance, which is the rasping air bypass noise coming back up through the air filter on very low throttle when cruising. Is easily drowned out by radio, but it is there.

As a side note: just ordered a wireless setup for the OBDII on ebay for $18
WIFI ELM327 Wireless OBDII Auto Scanner Adapter Scan Tool for iPhone iPad

and have loaded the iPhone app DashCommand $12

Can't wait to give it a go...

Since the intake is just behind where the stock airbox is maybe you could have a custom airbox made?
