The AP60 kit comes off ebay for $200+. I'm handy with wiring and soldering, etc. It connects to speedo signal wire at the ECU, clutch switch, brake switch, 12V, earth and tees into the manifold vacuum line. It took me a couple of hours to figure it out in theory then an hour or two to install. I've had it in for about 8 years now with no problems.

Cruise control and air con should be standard on all cars. As well as an LSD.

I lowered the steering wheel till it just started obscuring the instrument cluster.

So the answer for me at this stage is getting another seat that is lower, put it on lower rails, and fit a cruise control. I'm surprised that an alterted pedal configuration has not been concieved? It may be that it is not possible?

Its possible, just not easy/cheap.
You could cut, adjust and weld/bolt stock pedals.
You could install an aftermarket setup - http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorspor ... lance-bars

You can perhaps try another NB which has already been modded but don't be surprised if it's still a compromise. The NC is apparently better for taller people than the NB. I would not be cutting and modding without knowing if its going to work and a lower seat wit less padding may also have other probs.

Would there be any advantage in modifying the pedal so that it rocked? with a gudgeon and pintel for example. Hot Rodders do this sort of thing all of the time.

When you turn your car on, does it return the favour?

If you are after a plug-and-play solution, there is this kit from Japan, http://nielex.net/interior_pdllt.html you'll probably need to view the page view through a translator or in chrome to read it.

It move the pedals back 25-30mm and up 10-15mm. The kit is more expensive than most of the assemblys in the demon tweaks link but the benefits are that they are a direct fit, you won't need any additional parts/fab. work/etc to fit (may end up cheaper) and you won't need to get them engineered/approved (I'm sure you technically do with these as well, but remove the stickers and they look completely stock to the untrained eye, so no one will ever know you have aftermarket pedals) and I believe if you compete in certain events the pedal boxes can move you into a different class.

So I contacted Demon-tweeks to no avail. Mentioned in detail the problem but no joy. So there? Will keep research the topic.

... doesn't mean it's much more understandable though  ...

"Professional specs ABC pedal LT \ 100,000+ tax ~ / pedestal minute "full order product" NA-NB all cars "improve the Dorapoji of height 185cm in pedal" no room overlooking the best Doraboji for 180cm tall over the driver NA · in a room of NB, full backet necessary to circuit racing, due to roll bar installed, reality is that just forced the masochistic position.
To improve the cramped feet of such tall drivers, we launched the ABC pedal kit of new concept that allows for smooth pedal operation.
Pedal layout compared to normal, back to 25 ~ 30mm, upwards is 10 ~ 15mm offset, even in shoes size 28cm or more of the driver will be able to step on the comfortably heel & toe.
Furthermore As with existing professional specs ABC pedal, you will be able to obtain a high rigidity and linear operation feeling coupled with best Dorapoji and pedal work.
Because of course is a complete order product, the left and right pedal. Offset can also be a before and after, please contact us dissatisfaction towards Come on pedal position not tall driver only. Image height 184cm, weight 83kg, driver T's custom models of shoes size 28cm. Vehicle type NB8C, RECARO SP-G, 4-point roll bar installed. Both ABC pedal 30mm in the back, above the 15mm offset."
