Re: Lightyear track car. Version ? Lost count...
Forgot to post the finished spoiler. This was made as a rush job late at night. So not 100% perfect! but perfectly fine for testing. It's made with one layer of plain weave carbon fibre, backed by Kevlar.and the epoxy resin is some old yellow stuff that was given to me. sh*t to work with..
It looks very large, and I suppose it is. But it only sticks out about 35mm forward of the bumper at the number plate. It has 85mm clearance, with the sills at 110mm clearance.
It does scrape a bit going in and out of the driveway, but only so much pressure will be applied as it lifts up. So no damage besides light scratching.

Re: Lightyear track car. Version ? Lost count...
I sold the Brown a Davis Rollbar, as I decided a custom Rollbar would suit my needs better. I want to sell the as new Sparco Sprint V $325, the KAKIMOTO exhaust is for sale, but if it doesn't sell, I will modify it, and use it as part of the new exhaust.
I have everything now that I bought to do its track set up I wanted. But unfortunately I have hurt my back, and can't walk. So hoping it gets better real quick, as I hate not doing anything, plus I want to get this car done.
Should have it done in one day. Still not sure if I should get a RWC so I can rego it in Vic. Probably leaning towards doing it.

Need more drugs. The worst part is knowing I could have finished jobs, like the hardtops. Instead I am watching youtube for hours at a time unable to even go to the toilet. I can't even move from the spot I am laying in.

Ended up getting an ambulance. I can walk (slowly) now, so will start working again. Wife already has a list of jobs to do. I want to sand the last 2 hardtops and drop them off to get the top coat done. Should be doable.
I now have the 4.1 Torsen diff, completing everything I need to get for the car. It will go in to Lux Racing next week, and come out track ready.

Re: Lightyear track car. Version ? Lost count...
Decided to get a RWC, and rego it in my name. So the car is pretty much going back to stock.
I decided to try the 15x8's on the fiat to see if they fit. And they do. So will be looking for a set of wheels..
Just need to raise the car up about 30mm and it's ready for inspection. I found a place that can do it Tuesday.
Camera must have been on a dodgy setting..

Just curious, did you use wobble bolts on the Fiat?

Photo must have uploaded a bit dodgy. It's the first time that's happened. Even the sills on the fiat are a bit dodgy.
I don't have wobble bolts yet. Will buy some.

Re: Lightyear track car. Version ? Lost count...
I ended up getting the RWC on the 24th of December. I had to put the Oem muffler on, change 2 bulbs, brake and clutch pedal rubbers had worn smooth. So they needed changing too. I raised the car so it was about 95mm of the ground at the lowest points front and rear, pumped the tyres up to about 55psi, and it sits at about 110mm high at the lowest points now.
Waiting to get the car down to Nick at Lux Racing so I can get the Rollbar and exhaust made. And while it's there, will put all the other gear on and corner weight it. Should be a good compromise between road friendly and track worthy. I doubt it will set any records, but as long as it is fun to drive I will be happy.
I was going to enter super modified. But you need an Oem hardtop.
And I also want to start designing and making the rest of the fastback. So I will go into restricted open.
So tonight I started prepping the car for a fastback. Removed the boot and soft top. Put plastic where I will be working.
Also, I picked up a rear spoiler. It's a bit bigger than the G.V lip I had.

The soft top and seats might be for sale too. Soft top is in excellent condition, with no cracks, holes or wear. Best soft top I have owned.
Might have a guy that wants it already, just waiting on a response.
Seats are really good too. They are the high back seats.
