Brake shudder 2000 nb

My Mx5 2000 nb has got a brake shudder when under brakes. Cant tell if front or rear. Recently put new pads in front and rear also. Seems an awful lot of dust on wheels and guards. Perhaps one of the discs is warped? Is there a way of telling?

Front brakes do 80% of the work. Chance of warped front disc(s). Is there anything coming back through the steering? Brake shop can tell you for sure. Replacement/improved discs sometimes more cost effective than paying for skimming of existing ones, which can usually only be done once before they're below minimum thickness.

What pads did you use?

Did you machine the discs or use the same pads (but new)?

Second bedding in?

my bet is on rotors not being turned causing the grip-slip shudder sensation of your new pad on the old surface

yes to Dave's advice - take it to a brake repairer but ask questions about what pads are available and don't rule out OEM pads. Brake dust is often caused by the pad itself i.e. some are well known for being dirty. They will check your rotors. Brake pulsating almost surely rotor is the cause.

More than likely, front.

Did it happen before the pad change?
If so, its likely rotors. If it only happened after, i question whether everything got put back together properly?
