Helpp! 15 or 16 inch for na6??

Hey guys, just wondering what is the most commonly used size rim on the miata? cant decide if i want 15x8 or 16x8.... would anybody possibly let me try their rims on to see fitment around melbourne area? would be a great help

Choose the size you think looks best.

15s have a wider range of tyres, and cheaper too.

Also, probably fairly thin on the ground for Miata's in Melbourne.

Go 15" wheels, there is a large array of styles to choose from
195/50/15 tyres the same goes for them in brands and price

to get the correct rolling diametre for the tyres and keep speedo relatively accurate - 15 inch rims will allow for a deeper sidewall - more driving comfort - but more flex on track - opposite for 16 inch rims. So kind of depends on HOW you want the car drive and where!

Which ever wheel you reckon looks best.

On my NA6 I use Enkei 16x7 as a road wheel with a 205/45/16 Khumo KU31, on the MX5 Club of Qld track days I use Enkei 15x8 with 205/50/15 Toyo R888.

Both are acceptably comfortable for me on both the road and track

Thanks for all the help guys, will probably go with 15s so i can slam it more :wink:
after a set of 15x8.25 xxr 527s with +0 offset, would anyone be able to clarify if i would need fender rolling to get these to fit?

Definately need guard work

25 or 30 et might be better fit no rolling required

Think it will need flaring or just rolling? Really want the xxrs but dont feel like destroying my guards for them, fair enough for rolling but i will pass if it needs flaring. can only find them in +0 offset too :(

Rolling is rolling the lip of the arch which can scrub on your tires with wider different offset wheels... Flaring is pulling them out so the arches are wider

How does one do said flaring? Reason I ask is that my 205s on 15x8s are marginally rubbing at the front with 2.5 degrees of negative camber and quite a bit o' slammin'.

The cheapest and easiest way is to get a suitable bit of pipe, put it between the guard and the tyre and move the car backwards and forwards slowly allowing the pipe to "roll" with the tyre and will "pump" the guards to give you clearance. Can look good if very patient or look very ghetto.
