Fernvale / Lowood is certainly not mid-way for those organising / attending the DD coffee run from the Toowoomba and Ipswich areas. I think those attending are best to make this call on where it will be held tks. Cheers NAS

It does seem that way Ross, given that your first post as the thread generator stated that you were "looking at trying to revive interest in the MX5 club here on the downs".

From a Club perspective: It shouldn't be too hard to get a drive going on the 3rd Sunday in February next year for a morning RV somewhere in the Lockyer and then a run up anything but the Warrego Hwy (say Flagstone Ck Rd or Esk-Hampton Rd) for lunch somewhere out of the way like Meringandan. I'm more than happy to help you with organisation if you think it's worth running with this or an alternative idea.

Quoting RB's latest post: "attempts to generate interest in the MX5 scene on the Darling Downs" it appears not to be specifically 'club exclusive' (incidentially nor is the title of the post). Therefore as we are all in an MX5 forum we all have a genuine interest in the MX5 scene, so logically the post has in fact not been hijacked. Tks NAS

PS I am happy to start another post if that is the 'consensus' view of those whom have a genuine interest in the 'MX5 scene' here on the DD, but as there is not a surfeit of MX5's on the DD such a thread would welcome one and all!

A waterfall starts with just one drop.

It you have a coffee meet they will come'

As per the title of the thread, coffee meet and I'm happy to make a time once a month where we can meet. Place could vary depending on others or it could be fixed Just like Rogers Sat coffee meet. If people come they come if not I'll have coffee with my partner or whoever is with me.

Northside is open to all - even if only an interest in MX5's or thinking of buying one

Also is open to both members and non-members of the MX5 Club QLD, a means to attract to the Club and Club activities

Some days there is only me, others we have up to 8 cars! You take it as it comes and enjoy the friendship

I missed this Ross.
The Lowood area has a lot of WW2 aviation and post war motorsport history - most of which has now been obliterated by development. There are some visible remnants.
A visit to the Aerotec (Zuccoli) warbird collection (if they host visits these days) or the Australian Army Flying Museum would be a very worthwhile inclusion in a run up and over the range.
