Haltech tuner recommendations in Melbourne
Enough people have now told me to give up on the tuner who installed my PS1000.
So I promise I'll take the car to whoever gets the best/most props here over the next week or so.

Personally, I'd talk to Haltech in Wetherill Park and ask who would they suggest in Vic for your car.
Explain the issues you have had and see if they can recommend someone.
I have heard good things about RTR but have no personal experience with them.

Re: Haltech tuner recommendations in Melbourne
Spoken to Haltech and got a couple of ideas from them. Would be great to also get recommendations from people who have taken MX5s to tuners in Melbourne. Please.

Re: Haltech tuner recommendations in Melbourne
Anyone else with thoughts on NT Performance, or other options? I really need to get it right this time.

Re: Haltech tuner recommendations in Melbourne
RTR have got a good reputation. Thought they were more of an EVO specialist though... At least that's how I knew them.
If you are prepared to drive to Sydney, you could go to Haltech directly, but would suggest Deckspeed is probably the best & should be able to work through your problems.

RTR for sure - both Dan and Daz are former MX-5 owners and top blokes to boot.

More recommendations in Melbourne or further away?
For what it's worth, the car is drivable now, and I'm prepared to travel a reasonable distance to get it properly sorted, including to Sydney.

Re: Haltech tuner recommendations in Melbourne
So far it looks as though Haltech need to find more tuners who understand MX5s in order to improve their reputation in our community.
At the moment there seems to be less than a handful of combined MX5/Haltech experts and most of them seem to get their advice from just one of them.

Re: Haltech tuner recommendations in Melbourne
The MX5/Haltech market is quite small so you would expect the knowledge to be concentrated. One of the reasons GT Auto in Brisbane has a very good knowledge of MX5's is because Automotive plus is only a few doors down hence work together.
If the car is drivable then there is nothing wrong with going to where the knowledge is.

Re: Haltech tuner recommendations in Melbourne
Would this be the norm for a Haltech installation in the passenger footwell?
I'm going to try to put a version of the OEM bash plate over the top of it so passengers aren't putting their feet on the wires, connectors etc.
I might even fasten the ECU down onto something instead of it being held in place only by the carpet.
