best and cheapest place to get front discs and pads for NC

hey all
was told I need to get new front discs and pads for my 2005 NC in the next 3000 kms
any links as to who has some good deals.
i dont race, i just want normal discs and pads

Brakes- a brake specialist. I can recommend an Eastern suburbs brake guy so PM me if want a name of an operator who seems reliable.

Always get some more info. If discs are required then get some prices- for example- Mazda / Bursons eg Bayswater/ ABS etc. Your discs might actually be ok i.e. only need a machining- it depends on disc thickness.HTey will often give a choice of products- you ask them for brands etc. If you know a price for a rotor or pads then ask the brake workshop to tell you how much are the pads and rotor cost= you might find you save nothing by buying them yourself. It also give an opportunity to at least match costs of parts and save the trouble of supplying them with products. Good brake people never replace pads without either machining rotors or replacing them if undersize. Rotor thickness is best measured by someone who has the right measuring device. I seem to recall your car has done under 100K. A Mazda pad might be expensive but its likely to be a good product.

Don't use cheap pads- a really bad idea. You want good quality reasonable wearing pads that don't create a dust storm like some products. If pads are too cheap there is a reason for this. Its not a good ploy to put cheap products into a car especially a thing as important as brakes.

If you buy anything off the internet you probably get no comeback and a brake repairer will fit what you give them.

I am running a set of EBC Ultimax pads (front and rear) they are more than comparable with the OEM pads (which are quite good) and very good for general use.
If you need someone to do the work, go back to the MX5 factory.

Taminga..Merely a conservative statement ie recommendations based on ones own dealings.
Insofar as OE pads are concerned I had a vehicle built in Hiroshima and the original front pads lasted 110,000 klms and the rotors were still serviceable. There is a sound case to deal with a brake Specialist for brakes and you can run the same line for other specifics on vehicles.

EXCELLENT POINTS THERE.
I knowing myself, without even thinking would probably have bought the cheapest option. Without even thinking this is my life here. I would of gone cheapest so i could spend cash on someting else.

Mr M,
I found no fault with the OEM brake pads and only replaced them when I installed some braided lines in fact they are in my shed and are showing more than a half life (50,000 Klm est).
